The Nissan.ie (Irish site) lists the Pathfinder Van : http://www.nissan.ie/new_vehicles/overview.aspx?CarID=123&SectionID=1 The site no longer seems to list a standard Pathfinder. But the Van seems to be just that, 'cept maybe with no back seats.

It might be that the Pathfinder is referred to as a van down south (I'm in Northern Ireland), perhaps for tax reasons. I do know that sales of big 4x4's down there have dropped off a cliff in the last few years so it could be Nissan Ireland are simply pulling out the rear seats, blacking out the windows and hoping to clear stock as a commercial, or it could be something completely different.

Regardless, I can't see any new Pathfinder van being much more than either a Navara with body top on the flatbed or a Pathfinder with no rear seats, so I don't think it'll be anythink to get excited about. I suspect it's purely a marketing and tax evasion ply to clear Pathfinder stock that they can't seem to givaway anymore. I do know they're VERY keen to sell stock: I lease my Navara thru my company, I'm two years into a 3 year deal, I'm constantly getting calls from Nissan finance asking if I want to buy it, best offer from them so far is £10k, for a 2 year old Sport with £18k on the clock! The offers started at £11800 2 months ago so they're getting desperate. They've even guaranteed me an end of lease purchase price of £7k (which is essentially the £10k they want now less the £3k I'll be paying them over the final year) so Nissan clearly don't see sales on these beasts picking up anytime soon.

Incidentally when I went in to buy it 2 years ago I couldn't decide whether to buy or lease it. The RRP was £24k all in. The sales girl I dealt with said the best price she could do it for was £22k, if I leased it my total cost over the three years would be £10k and the residual value of it at the end of the term would be £10k, so that would be the most I'd have to pay if I then decided to buy it. So it looks like the writing was on the wall for these things back then.

A mate recently went in to buy or lease one and the local dealer said they no longer stocked Navara's, the only way to get one was for them to order one in, it would take 6-8 weeks to get, he would have to take whatever colour they could get and he would absolutely have to pay the ticket price. Essentially they said they're not interested in selling them anymore, they tried to get him into a Cashqua! (Spelt wrong no doubt).

In the end he got a Southern Ireland import for £15k.

sadly newsletter doesnt seem to link to a site
so copied and pasted following

NEW PATHFINDER VAN.
SUBSTANCE AND STYLE.

Need an LCV with tough 4x4 performance? Then the new Nissan Pathfinder Van is sure to fit the bill. Featuring genuine off-road capability, a 650kg payload, 3,000kg towing capacity and level rear floor, the Pathfinder Van is available now.

looks like five door with windows behind b pillar plated.

Interesting to see theyre building in Spain. After the spanish cars of the 1970's into 80's (possibly even more crap quality than BL) as a country are we looking at the developing new car building giants of Europe??

We've had (still have one) two SEATS and I have to say the build quality on both, particularly the 09 one, is superb :clap

Not sure why anyones bothered, the Pathy bombed as a family 4x4 so won't be any better as a van I'm sure

Have they? wasn't aware of that. Although I can't really say I'm surprised, they are big. I prefer driving the Terrano to my Navara (which I think is the same size as the LWB Pathfinder?) as it's just that bit smaller so a lot more relaxed to drive. In the Nav it's a constant battle to pass on coming traffic on anything but main roads and parking it in a town car park is a no no. Steering is very heavy too.

I have the Nav for practical reason, I'm into bikes and boats and stuff like that so need a big truck to haul them all about but I wouldn't have one or a Pathfinder as a regular family car, too much hassle.
