I'd figured that :lol
Thats a fair old weight then on a single axel - although the germans do like to build them damn solid!

oh my
my bailey is only 1241KG fully loaded...
so what do you get for that extra?
Hi there,
I was interested to know how well your motor tows the caravan, I have just changed my Nissan 2.7TD Mistral/Terrano for a 2008 2.0DCI Xtrail 150bhp and have not yet towed with it. Has anyone experience of towing with this engine if so is it ok.
Best regards Aggy

bloke in my office has an Xtrail. loved it for towing, but long slo whill ran out of steam.
much like my T2
That's a nice looking caravan.
Call me sad if you want, but I love seeing the T2 hooked up the van. It looks really purposeful and your XTrail looks equally great.
Regards
Alan
Hi my x trail is a 173 red i and it tows the caravan with ease. My t2 had a power box on and I thought that towed well but not in the same league as the x trail. All I can say is fantastic, What a motor!!
I am pleased your xtrail 2.0dci 173 tows well. As mentioned mine is the 150bhp version and I hope it will be ok, I know the intercooler and extra bhp makes a difference but I just hope that I will be ok with the 150, my van is about 950kg empty.
Best regards Aggy

mine is 1241kg when all up and ready to go.. T2 .. its like " what caravan" just need to keep an eye on your speed.. though the LONG HILLS do slow it down a bit.

mont, what are they like on fuel (diesel) my t2 is so juicy we are thinking of getting an x trail next year to tow our caravan. :nenau:naughty
Not worked it out properly yhet as it olny has 3000 miles on at the moment , but I am getting easy over 40 when not towing. Even with the van on in 6th gear will pull and pull I can highly recomend you try one out

my caravan unloaded is 1250kgs and 1550 kgs loaded top end weight for the xtrail mine is the series 2 112 bhp but 200 newton metres of torque at 2000 rpm tows the van at 60 mph no problems and you feel in control of the outfit at all times would reccomend you try before you buy

seen several xts lately towing top end vans, most recently a 6metre twin axle sterling
6 berth, though dont know vans weight or power of truck, personally thought looked
out of proportion. ok 174 bhp is great, but doesnt hold van in cross winds etc.
do wonder what 85% ratio comes out at?
also seen freelanders with similiar vans which i wouldnt want to tow with less than a
t2 sized vehicle, but hey each to their own and good luck atleast they're doing what
built for...
Hi,see what you are saying .I thought my xt wouldnt be as stable as my t2 but it is and beats it in all situations apart from not having a low box, whitch I didnt use much anyway and last time I needed it didnt work. that was the last straw whitch led me to buying the xt, best thing I ever did
