Hi

I live in Spain and have just bought a new pathfinder XE basic verison.

The car is fantastic except for a couple of things that Nissan Service here don't or cannot fix.

1) The tailgate on my car is not aligned correctly and they say it can't be aligned.

2) I have a squeeking sound from the front of the car intially when I went over bumpy roads but now also travelling on normal roads. Nissan can't find it when in the garage.

I'm not too impressed with Nissan service here. Can i align the tailgate myself using the adjust screws?

Does any other Pathfinder owners have a similar squeeking noise from the front?

I would also like to put roof rails on the roof - is this easy to do?

thanks

Fred

If the tailgate leaks when it rains, reject the car. Take it back to Nissan and let them either, get it sorted or supply a new one.

There are some threads running on roof bars if you do a search. I believe it involves removing the headlining unless you use a captive pop rivet type bolt.

As for the squeak, it could be absolultley anything, but I would start with a general look and feel around and possibly try greasing the joints where needed then a liberal spray with WD40 all over.

Its possible that your vehicle could have been stood for some considerably time before it was sold to you. Its not uncommon for a "new vehicle" to have been stood for over 18 months on the docks.

PS. Welcome to the club by the way.

Thanks for all your replies.

The problem: The tailgate sticks out on the RHS and hence the gap is much larger between the tailgate and body than on the LHS.

I'll have a go and if I can't do it take it to a bodyshop

thanks again.
