I dont remember any info saying posts had to make sence!!

ok, so

trailers and caravan lights need a buzzer or light when you have it pluged in.

So i dont have a buzzer, ive a little green LED.

The buzzer might be fitted at rear if after market, was it working before your sockets fitted?

sounds like bliss mate pardon pun, those buzzers are pain in bum, ideal for waking
baby or upseting dog.

years ago had a maestro it had a caravan symbol in dash that flashed with trailer
indicators, think same pod went onto freightrovers may be some landies far more
sophisticated that a blooming noisey buzzer.

confession on troll it doesnt work and keep forgetting to fix.....

its an after market towbar, but they have fitted the LED not a buzzer.

so its leagal.

its also where you cant really see it so not a new flashing light to take your attention away JUST as you should be looking else where..

had a buzzer on my Astra, and the Hustler.. very loud and anoying!

In my owners manual it say that it will automatically detect if a trailer is connected and a audible warning will sound... or something like that. So you should have one. Don't know about the law on this though?

Alan

Discussed in the link in the post above Alan....think light or buzzer is fine, providing they give a warning of bulb failure somehow.....

I may be a bit rusty but I understand all you need is an audible and/or visual notification that the indicators on the attached trailer is operating :thumb2

If the one on your car fails you still need to keep an eye on the normal dashboard light.

You will not know if any other lights on the trailer have failed but the logic is that you've only got one indicator each side as opposed to brake and rear markers so particularly for the dreaded right turn a notification/attention getter/confidence checker is essential.

ahhhh...............just read the link, apparently if yours doesnt pick up on the car bulb failure it doesnt conform.........interesting, you learn something every day. I wouldnt have thought that thought because its meant to be monitoring your trailer and not your car :nenau
