How did you pay, and have they taken the payment?

If CC then you can get your CC company to take it up, but they may need to leave it longer before acting, if paypal then you have some buyer protection.

A company shouldn't take payment unless they can supply the goods in a reasonable time.

Try a post on Difflock or Mudclub to see if anyone there has any contact with this dealer, or can supply different contact details.

i brought some about a month ago and the garage did have a problem getting them due to a manufacturing problem that colway were having. it took two weeks in the end.

Thanks for the input it was by debit card, I will check with the bank tomorrow if they have taken payment. I was hoping (as you suggested) that someone would have an allternative contact number.

The fact that they are experiencing delay's is good news (in a way) but the lack of communication and no one an the telephones is a little un professional at the least!

What worries me is how difficult the are to contact, what will their after sales service be like? This may be the decider for many people between colway and another brand!

Thanks again!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but - Colway have gone into administration, something to do without standing rent arrears. The administrators are hoping to get them up and trading again. I should be checking your bank account quick smart.

After doing little digging based on HB's advice it apears they went into receivership last thursday

Hopefully as I ordered from 'Tyres Direct' who i beleive are a seperate company I should have some recourse' I hope if nothing else this will be a good warning for other members!

they do have a good reputation, and according to the news, the lombard rally is now in trouble as the cars are all in need of colway tyres!

it also concerns me for the guarantee of their existing customers!

but apparently they are hoping to run as normal in receivership! after negotiating with the land lord to get back into the factory

a brief update tyres direct have not procesed the payment at all! I cant actual stop it as the maestor system ensures a guaranteed payment to the trader. So all i can do now is wait and see what happens if they re gain access to the factory and choose to process the order or not!

Hope things turn out OK for you. I was about to order come Colway MT's from Colway about 2 weeks ago but found a site in Stone who fitted me a full set of Colway C-Trax MT's, 235x70x16 for £178.60 including vat.

The latest news on the Lombard Rally official site!

Vredestein - an alternative Control Tyre
Tuesday 6th November

The tyre situation at Colway unfortunately cannot be resolved in our favour, although exhaustive efforts by Fred Henderson and ourselves have been on going for the past two weeks. We thank Fred for all his efforts during this difficult time. Therefore, as previously stated, we have arranged supplies of an alternative control tyre from Vredestein to be available at the start and on route. The Vredestein control tyre may be used in addition to the your existing Colways. No other tyre may be used except as allowed for in the regulations (Appendix A15). This new control tyre MUST be purchased from our official supplier.
