It Then beeped the whole time the car turned over until she kicked in,started no probs like!,first time this has happened,is this normal,or is the she trying to tell me something??? 8O

Hi,
Its happened to me before when my battery was on the way out or getting low. Sometimes still get it if the vehicles being sitting for weeks in the cold without moving (during illness), even with a new battery in it.
8O I've never heard of this before  maybe it's cos you all live in the north :?:

Cosmic do you have a multi meter, because if it's a battery problem I would check the battery voltage before starting it up & once it's running to check the charge rate
i got a mac one for sale on flebay if u need one lol
my 2001 terrano does the same, im convinced its the battery cos it only reads 50% charge (12.5 volts) after a full charge and stood for 24 hrs disconnected.Battery is 5 1/2 yeas old so will need replacing soon. after a long journey and next day it wont do it but let terrano stand for 5 days and that buzzing noise returns untill it starts.

I don't think this beep is connected to the glow plugs; on my wagon the glow plug ligth stays on after the beep has stopped - usually after only a second or so. I have a feeling this beep is related to the NATS system, and occasionaly I get a similar situation, beep continues for longer, engine turns over but is slow to start. I've always taken this to be an intermittent situation that means the immobiliser hasn't been inactivated.

Mine did this today, didn't catch first time, beeped a second time while the key was in the ign before turning off, 2nd go with glow plugs and no problems starting up 2nd time around. Probably the coldest start my wagin has had this year.

Well it did it again this morning, always the first time i start it when it's-0 or colder,i wonder if this is some sort of ice warning.
The car started fine!
:?
Mine done this on friday after sitting for a few days unused. Turned out i had a flat battery, charged the battery and hey presto no beep!!!
