Hello,

I have a 1994 Maverick which is wonderful, but I am desperate to find a decent mechanic in Bury St.Edmunds, Suffolk who will treat her with the respect she deserves.

I am new to the area and so far have had no luck, I need a mechanic urgently as she has a nasty oil leak and no one so far cares!!!!

Someone will be along. But any view where the leak is coming from or have you not looked?

I have looked but cannot pin point as oil every where. When stationary but turning over the oil drips drivers side! Last mechanic just shook his shoulders and told me 'one of those things'. Sorry but female and have relied on mechanics for past 11 years. I tow regularly so have always kept her well maintained. I do not want to change vehicle as never let me down and tows horses brilliantly!

Mechanics can be like that can't they! My wife went into the garage last week with a water leak, and bearing in mind we live 160 miles apart during the week and she's in West Wales so shes pretty lost without transport, the lazy sod wouldn't even look at it for her - even offered to buy it for buttons...cheeky sod.

Anyway, isolating it to the drivers side is a bit better than the middle, which could have been the main bearing seal which is a pig to change I believe....a guru will consult imminently though I'm sure!!

Have you had anything serviced recently or did this just start out of nowhere?

Thank you for your replies!

Had a basic service Oct 08 oil leak noted and is now due for major service (and attention to clutch as new one put in by idiot in Oct which has not been correctly adjusted). Oil leak appeared last year but has slowly gotten worse over the last 6 weeks.

If a mechanic pats me on the head one more time I will not responsible for my actions..............

As the other lady members on here (and there are a few) will attest....generally speaking they only do that once or twice to a female who drives a Nissan/Maverick....:sly
