Last night the missus and I had one of those "why dont we moments".
We've been planning where to go with the caravan in June for 2 weeks (cant wait) and have finally decided to go s westish.
She grew up down there and I lived and worked quite a while down there, love it.
Ideally we fancy staying Bristol/Wells/Cheddar/Taunton type area, completely open minded. Moving around if needs be.
CL's preferred but no sites not considered :thumb2
Could any of you folks local to that area or have toured/camped there recently make any decent recommendations.
Thanks in advance :bow

we love the burnham on sea are, theres agreat CC site at hurn lane just up the coast
though not aware of too many CLs when we were touring round.
Believe CC opened a new site at cheddar last season, appreciate they can be pricey
esp in higher seasons but you know that certain standard / service leve will be
present, sort of McD's of caravanning. always fancied the site on bristol harbour
wharf next to ss great britain for novelty.
just looked in book, seems there are 6 cls in burnham area, good hunting.

hi all,
been to that area for last 2 years and loved it, we stay at home farm holiday park just off jct 22 m5 very near burnham on sea, a commercial site but a good one with decent facilities and club house. other sites we stayed at are broadway house near cheddar not bad site and fairly good facilities, and a cl we stayed at was nice and quite with views of the gorge as well. addy for that is clinton house sharpham road cheddar bs27 3dr, it has hook up and waist drainage so no emptying waistmaster.
hope this helps in some way, btw we are off to home farm next week for a few days tue-sat only £50 odd cant wait.
cheers eboy.

Bucklegrove that was recommended has allways been very good, lovely clean facilities and polite people, though the price has rocketed latley so i dont go anymore, being a bit mean and all.
we sometimes use a small site in highbridge, now owned by a group travellers and not open to the public anymore so I dont have anywhere to recommend
a very nice area though, last time i was down that way i got thrown out of Wells cathedral by a very aggresive elderly lady, I bet you can't guess what for?
I bet you can't guess what for?

no but a good guess :lol
it was a bitterly cold day and we were all bundled up, i had a spliting head ache and an eye infection and wanted to keep warm, it is freezing in that big old place, anyway, I comited te mortal sin of forgeting to take my hat off!
so the all forgiving, isn't so unforgiving after all, I have still not repented from my sins I am a serial hat wearer :lol:t humbs
