View Full Version : Xtrail 2.5 Sport Petrol
Anybody got any experience, good or bad, of the Xtrail 2.5 Sport Petrol?
There's a 2004 up for sale locally which looks reasonable and its time my 94 Mav was replaced, it really has seen better days.
Also thinking of joining the caravan fraternity so if anyone has used a Xtrail for towing there views would be appreciated.
I’ve been looking for a late Terrano 2 for the past few months but there has been none on the market, private or garages, here in SE England.
Thanks/regards

Not my experience but a bloke I work with usually has new to 2 yr old cars. He had (I think) 3 terranos, loved em. Once the Terranos werent available he swapped to Xtrails. Liked them, no problems, but missed the Terranos towing ability with his caravan in comparison.
He's dumped xtrails and got a shogun but we wont talk about that :augie
My choice would definitely be to keep looking for a terrano at that age :thumbs
Good look whichever way you go.

shunt. what sort of mpg do you get on normal driving. i am thinking of swapping to one of those?
Thanks
horrible things, we have a 2.2dci, 4 yrs old 45,000 mile and we have spent about £1500 alone in spares. do never tow unbraked trailers because it will rattle and anoy you to death the interior plastics mark to easy, the paint work scratches every time you touch it, the engine makes a horrible/squeak noise after the 10,000 mile stage and the ride is not what you would expect for a motorway cruiser (very hard and firm)

we are only getting about 38.5, have you got any performance parts or any thing to get it that high?
will admit, the seats do hug and support your body well and they are easy to drive (even if the clutch is a little bit heavy) and if you give it the beans and you are good with the clutch, you'll easly beat the boy racer saxo off the line:lol:doh:thumbs
i would recommend waiting for one of the MK3 to come into your price range as they look the business and the interiors have a whole new design:cool:
