Hello Chaps and Chapesses, I'm trying to become a Navara King Cab owner, I've found a nice looking vehicle on the www, and I'm trying to do the deal.

I'm in Co, Mayo, but I'll be in England (15/4/09 till 22/9/09) for a week, and I'll be moving back full time shortly thereafter.

The vehicle I'm interested in is a 2004 NAVARA D22 2.5 DI 4X4 KING CAB, I dont know much about these vehicles (I owned a Mazda 2.8 pick-up in the US, but that was petrol), so I'd like some guidance from you all.

What do you think of em / What should I be looking for when I'm checking it out ???

Thanks,

Jim :thumb2

Hi jim
check its service record nissan have now extended the warrenty on the engine to 92000 but must have FULL service recored with Nissan. Big end shells wear badly and cause con rod (No 3) to fail. view Navara net .com for full explanation and Knackered navara net. as well. This does NOT happen to every one, just some. There is no knocking just bang.
On start up any knocking you hear is normally thr belts(tighten)
Mines has done 98000 now. i had it moded at 92000 with new bearings, bolts ,internal chain belts and guides ,new clutch and a new oil pump with a direct connection to the sump, this gets rid of nissan rubber groumet.
Hope this does not put you off they are great fun to drive, the rear steps out if you boot round corners, off its very capable. and very comfortable.
Tony.

I recently bought a 2003 Navara 4X4 DI, and its started to idle eratically.

When it starts (cold or hot) it idles at 1000, but then the revs slowly climb up to 1500, occasionally they climb to 1750. :banghead

What could be causing this, anyone got any ideas ? :thumbs

hmnm..just learning about Nissans myself, but in my Mazda MX6, i think that would be the Idle Control being dirty maybe....perhaps its sticking....i could be way off though..!!

Try tapping the accelerator with your foot. These things have a potentiometer on the accelerator, find and clean. Search for manual on navara .net ,they may be on here i can't remember, you may have to replace it Assuming thats whats wrong with it.
