I got my missus D10RNE, her name is Dorne - paid peanuts for it because its not got anything else going for it! but then she used to pass the same copper every day on the M40 and he wrote threatening a S59 if she didn't space it properly! bloody cheek if you ask me when the government sells cherished plates knowing full well what people will do with them!
having said that its on a retention cert at the moment and shes nicked PL Z4 235 which I paid 100 quid for...!
On the mr2 we have E2SGE (It's the engine model number) Got that from ebay.

long story
had it on a van, then mot ran out, so to get it off it had to be mot'd. i gave it to a bloke in the next village to get mot'd and he could have the van and i get the plate...... never did!
but on the bright side ..... he used to sell caravans from home. and one day lost all his stock ..... some nasty git burnt the lot
not me .... i still got to have my turn
im very quiet... but never forget
last year essex county council sold the plate "F1" i think it made £150,000 plus,
i thought it would sell for a lot more than that, would look nice on a mclaren f1 super car though, alright if you have a million quid to spare.

thats the down side with cherished plates - you've got to get them off while the vehicle has a valid MoT.....otherwise you're stuffed. sounds like your man had a few enemies....what goes around comes around as they say...:clap

Thanks for the comments, I will try and come to one of the clean weekend meets when the dates suit as I'm usually away with the van at every oppertune moment from around Feb to the New Year and yes I have been right up to the running board in mud pulling the van through a field in Shropshire New Year 2008 and nearly got stuck, but the a/t tyres did their work well and what a brilliant towcar it is, I bought it in 2001 when I retired at 52 and it has never let me down , will be touring Scotland this Sept going up the East side along the coast and coming down the West side, has anyone been ?.
