View Full Version : Nissan Rasheen
Love it or loathe it? What do guys think of this little soft roader? Anybody got one. I thought it looked promising with the lil 1.5 PI engine and boxy styling.

For those that have not seen or heard of the Rasheen.
There are 3 for sale on E-bay at the moment.

Aye up Mav, Looks like it was designed in the 60's!!!
Not my cup of tea! reminds me of a nasty old Volvo.

i have had a look on ebay and it reminds me of years ago when my dad was a member of a 2 stroke car club and had all kinds of wacky machines! most notably Wartburg estates this isn’t the same but reminds me of the era and the style!
try this for a wartburg comparison pic: http://www.kolumbus.fi/ekaurane/1-3-1.jpg
I keep seeing tham for sale and to be honest cannot make up my mind. Think I'd like to see one close up or drive to fully understand.
It does resemnble a Volvo amazon, also a Lada and other vehicles too.
Have a look at the X trail too thats not far removed!!
my dads gota bond bug with viliers two stroke in two sets points when you select reverse engine runs in reverse

I used to have a bond bug years ago but i never got it to go properly!
they are still (barely) legal as they are trikes but sadly all the two stroke cars of the past are now no longer with us!
Who can tell me what this is then?
I have not seen one before.

I`m sure OXO had a similar model 8O Yeah Rasheen is Lada Volvo all rolled into one. Wonder how the spares would go and if it shares engine etc with other Nissans. For the money it could be a useful runabout........maybe 35mpg and not bad room in it ......Better than an overpriced Freelander?

......Better than an overpriced Freelander?
Anything, including a push bike is better than a freelander, I looked at loads before I bought the Mav, horible inside, no space, underpowered, (except for the V6) dropped right off my list.
They also eat head gaskets....

there was a story on central news a while back about a man who was sueing land rover as they sold him a freelander with 'uncompromising off road performance' (land rover literature) he discovered it wouldn't even work on wet grass!
they showed footage of him loosing traction easily on a small grassy slope I would drive with ease in a transit, and being towed out my a sportrak.
never heard anything after that perhaps they settled out of court?
my oposit neighbour has one and their's is the less head gasket prone diesel, but it has the dodgey relays opening the windows at will symdrome! also common get up after a nights heavy rain to find wondows open and seats wet
i know chap whos ot the 2.7tdi v6 as his lr company car he was telling me they had case of throtles going wide open as they were being loaded onto transporters "software glitch" aparently wouldnt fancy shooting up top deck full pelt new undercrackers required!
