do any members live near inverness or ullapool??

a good friend of mine was killed yesterday on the A835 garve to ullapool

he was riding from john o/groats to lands end for charity, we cant seem to get any information, just wondering if any local members have a local paper with any info. ie is the A835 an accident black spot or weather conditions, he was an extremely experienced rider and did'nt take chances, many thanks..tezzer.

thanks wendy, another friend got a call at 3.45 this morning and they told me this morning, i was wondering if the road is accident black spot, or if the weather was bad, seems very strange because he was not a stupid rider like some on the roads, it may have been a mechanicle failure, or purely and accident.. tezzer

Well lets see if our members up north can tell you.

You must be in shock:(

Hard to take in when someone is so alive 1 minute and dead the next.

kindest regards

thanks mav, we found out today that it was a tradgic accident, evidently he was riding along a bendy part of the A835, when he was pushed across the road by a freak gust of wind, into the path of a on coming car, police say both vehicles were road worthy and the bike was loaded correctly, and no one had been drinking, unfortunately his widow recieved a post card from him this morning to add to her heart ache.

Very sad to hear this Tezzer, sometimes wonder why I ride a bike myself.. in a car he would have got away with this... condolences to yourself/friends/ and of course his family.
