just bought one of these for caravan mainly but may well get some use
as spare in house. Really nice unit , plugged it into our main tv aerial
which is a good analogue but not set up for dtv as have a sky+ receiver
for it and it pulled inloads of channels from digital including various east
yorks, yorks and teesside signals.

didnot bother wit invite to tune anlogue as got all 5 channels on dvb
and even several radio stations. ne job is to try it in van.

oddly is mains wired only transformer but low wattage means can run
with an invertor in van on a cl/rally field.

piano black, can be switched off fully othr wise little strip of blue light
to show on standby.

1 hdmi, 2 scart, component video and even twin audio out so can run
to car stereo speakers powered by van's car head unit.

thinks is exclusive to argos, @99.99 bargain plus 3 year instand cover
£20 cos it could bet knocked about on holiday....

its really light, even with box at 4kg
and stand appears fixed on so no build up required. more functions
on remote than shake a stick, hope the ampliied omni aerial on van
pulls 'em to. Still if not alway go sky as have a 60cm available that
just needs a stand.
Resolution is 1440x900 so might even have a mini pc in van with
compact wireless keyboard /mouse. want to try it with ps2 as wii
seems to be on horizon as joint valantine/anniversary to our selfs
mind thats wht the 'vsn was!

cheers Alan, reread my posts, seem to have got a bit carried away
considering not on either alba or argos payroll. still is neat unit
and glad stuck @ 16" rahter than 19" fancied would have been a
bit clumsy on side. played game and dvd on ps2 well but couldnt
get any terrestial of omniview or dad's aeriel on a pole - still van
is in a radio hole behind houses etc.

next job is to semi hard wire sat dish coax into and around van.
thinking be neat if could use existing uhf coax from terrstial sockets.
plugging in as necessary at the booster.

abbey has a car radio head unit socket into which a cage can be
seured a live and earth feed but no aerial feed. thinking of running
a lightweight aerial feed from on of tv points. then got to wire
speakers and locate, frankly a ball ache when can run mp3 cd/dvds
thru ps2 and tv, and tv as hand full of radio stations anyway. tv
makes a good sound for what are basically laptop speakers.

Sounds like a good unit:thumb2

I just got one from tesco's and it works great with the bi-directional arial on my Bailey, found the omi-birectional arial worse than useless in my old van.

Hi Guys

Tried to buy an Alba 16" but 'out of stock' - as per normal, you've all been there before me!

BUT...found a 15" Kenmark LCD TV at Comet, with Free View AND a DVD player already installed, as well as HD ready, for £135, VAT included.

Being the exact size (39 cm high) for the TV space in my Hobby AND it runs on 12 volt, it was a 'no-brainer'.

The make I've never heard of and it is probably as 'prestigious' as Alba, but who cares, it's guaranteed for a year! Seems a good deal for us caravanners.

Anyone got info or a good website for how to choose and install a satellite dish on a 'van?

Regards CL
