View Full Version : Wheel advice...
Hi there all. I'm new to the forum as I've just bought my self my first Nissan Terrano II. A 1995 LX (I think it's an LX anyway) in metalic grey which I'm unfortunatly unable to drive due to a sledging accident last week where I broke my leg. As I've got a little time on my hands for the next 5 or so weeks I thought I'd do a bit of looking round for some mods. I wanted to start with the wheels. I've heard that pretty much all Japanise 6 stud 4x4 wheels should fit I.E. Mitsubushy L200, Shogun, Hilux etc, can anyone tell me if this is true.
The other wheels Iam thinking of fitting are these 8x16" mudula steels, possably fitted with a set of nobbly AT or MT tyers

Is this going to be a straight fit or would it be better to go for the 7x16" instead.
Many thanks guys.
Regards. Ben...

once again welcome, lots more to see and read when you pay the £10, youll save that easly !!!!
Hi Ben,
All Japanese 6 stud wheels have the same 139.7 PDC so yes they will fit.
There is more info about wheels and tyres here (http://www.ventureoverland.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=104&Itemid=52) :thumb2
Hi Ben, i hope the leg is improving :thumbs
What size of tyre are you hoping to fit? Does the vehicle have any lift and what do you intend to use it for?
16x8 modulars are almost certainly 0mm offset, so they will stick out a fair bit, depending on tyre size I would stick with 16x7.
Cheers for the advice guys.
The Terrano is as standard at the moment with the origanal 15" steel rims. Very boring looking. The car will mainly be used on the road but will be needed now and again for work, I'm a tree surgeon so it will need to cope with some fairly rough tracks now and again. I wanted to put the wide rims on more for cosmetics than anything else. Not sure of the tyre size yet as I don't realy know much about it but want either knobbly AT or Mud terrain tyres. Does anyone have any recomendations?
There is also the possability of a 1.5" lift at some point...

MK1 shogun/pajero rims foul on the front brake calipers but the MK2 rim clear them:thumb2
Izuzu trooper wheels dont fit either... next to no offset and not dished enough so foul the caliper... Got a set if you want to try...
Anyone want a set of izuzu trooper wheels?????
If I don't go for the split rims it's looking like I might go for a set of Mitsubushi L200 alloys or steels instead as they seem to look quite cool and there are quite a few sets loating around on eBay. Anyone got any experience with those??
Once again, thanks for the advice guys... :thumb2

Unless you ave a particluar reason to go to 16s you'll probabkly be better of on 15s as there is a wider range of suitable tyres available.
