Well I guess the first thread and post should be to say hi:cool:
I've just found this site after being pointed in the right direction from another forum I use and so far I'm impressed:thumb2
I've had a 2.2T-Spec X-Trail from new for coming up to 5 years and am picking up a Terrano 2 Commercial (hopefully) on Sat trading in my old trusty Shogun Pinin Van as part ex.
Predominantly for work, I intend to use it off road as well with a few sorte's onto Salisbury Plain etc.
Looks like I will be able to pick a lot of info on here:D:D:D
Bob
Hi Bob, welcome the the Club, it's good to hear you arrived through recommendation :thumb2
I'm sure you will find the T2 will be more than capable and will serve you well.
I hear there are some great trails to be found on the Salisbury Plain, post up some photos of your finds when you have time :thumbs

Hi Bob, and welcome to the "Funny Farm" ... You will find that if you have any problems regarding Nissan trucks, someone will have dealt with it at some time or another. We have members from many countries and continents , so plenty of tips and advice available.
All the best, Matt.

Hi all thanks for the welcome.
I knew I should have held back saying I'm getting a new truck as I've just been let down by the seller. I always thought it was the buyers perogative to screw the seller, not the other way round:( Oh well some things aren't supposed to be I guess.
So still on the lookout for a T2 Commercial at the right price and still a happy owner of an X-Trail:D:D:D

Well after the above false start, here's what I've ended up with:D
A 3.0L Di T2 commercial in a rather fetching deep blue (didn't want silver anyway:p). Just need to sort the tyres out and away I goes:thumbs

Welcome Bob,
reckon you've made agood choice there those 3.0 vans are well rated, even editor
of 4x4 mag Dave Carroll was driving one certainly upto recently for laning reports
for mag etc.
Where abouts in Hampshire, was down there last year in NF near Lyndhurst, site
we stayed on next door, was run by Muddybottoms! appears some site from
walking dogs near it. On drive home trying for some reason to avoid Soton area
and we were by then staying near Weymouth drove thru Wilts, impressed by
number of clearly marked byways as we headed for Andover, the a303 and a34
north again.

Hi Zippy.
I was pointed this way by a member on the airgunbbs and just found you two here:p:D:D
Once I've got the tyres sorted (I'd rather push the diameter of the tyres for extra height than a lift at this stage) I'll be heading off the the plain. I'm booked on a night drive on the 14th so need to be sorted by then. Quite happy to meet up at some point Zippy, perhaps Dave can join us.
Hi Thomas, thanks for the welcome. I'm about 6 miles north of Brick Kiln Farm in Basingstoke.
We've got a few local lanes but whilst I intend doing as much off roading as possible, I do need to use the truck for work, so need to avoid the worst of the scratchy bits.
A quick question if I may, do I need to fit a bash plate underneath the engine? I haven't even looked as not had time:o
Bob
Nice truck :thumbs
I am no expert but there should already be a crash plate on your truck
go on get dirty and have a look:lol:lol:lol:lol

Aha, nice steps. Anyone know where they can be got (cheap if possible) or if steps from a Mark 2 Pajero will suit?

Yes it has. Why any manufacturer would fit wheels to an off-road vehicle where its virtually impossible to get off road tyres, beats me:confused:
Other than the obvious Chelsea tractor syndrome that is:rolleyes:

Ended up with a set of Grabber AT2's in 245x70x17. Had to trim the flaps a bit but very pleased with the result. Had a night drive last Sat on the plain and apart from rubbing the underside a couple of times in some deep rutted sections, the T2 sailed through. No probs in the water either although we lost a Jeep in one large "puddle":D Nothing terminal which was lucky for him, but he did get towed off the Plain.
