What oil

Hi

i've got a Maverick 2.7 Turbo diesel. can anyone tell me what oil to put in on engine service and how much the system takes to fill up

Hi Tolcarne,

6.2 ltrs with filter change. A good quality mineral based 15W/40 oil will be fine.

On my Autodata sheet- printed today..it says for a moderate climate 10W/40 with filter 6.2 litres, thats assuming that it is the same engine as the terrano II 2.7TD.
Be carefull not to overfill it..it is possible the engine can pick up on the oil , run itself up and go bang !

10W/40 is ok, but not as wide a temp range as 15W/40. The manual states “For warm and cold areas: 15W-40 is preferable for ambient temperatures above −20°C”
