the Icelanders really know how to build trucks, creating an almost
factory look as compared to say the US show/monster style typically.
They're not shy of modding motor and drive train either to make a
bullet proof truck as you'd need in an ice field. Once saw a rangey
lifted, motor had been dumped in favour of a big block chevy yep
all 7.4 litres of it.

had a look on a side link to the pix, theres a breakdown of what a 93 patrol
needed to get it on 44"s, real re-engineering, suppose something to do in
a heated garage in their 24 hour winter nights.
like to see list for t2 as well. these are built for their terrain, in that whilst
offroaders suspect with that much tyre articulation isnt that important,
instead the need to float over the ice, on pressures down to single psi mean
that the ground clearance gained is lost again. mind with lockers in both
axles they do get far then the winches are back up.

Icelanders do some fantastic work! but are not keen to help out me in the UK!
To get that kind of lift they lower the front axel, and often move it forward, So ground clearence is only realy gained by the size of tyre.

First country Id visit. With the trol of course.
Reminds me of Top Gear when they drove the red HiLux to the North Pole, cracking looking truck. My Brother said that the week after that was shown, orders for red double cab HiLux's went through the roof !
Lee.

THANKS FOR THAT LINK, theres a t2 on 33's looks like
left factory on them so discreet. clearly a body lift and
suspect a suspension increase too but rear door line looks
standard though front wing may have been trimed and
flared. believe is newish version as has offset intercooler
bonnet scoop.ie 3.0 litre tdi.
having viewed trol, and thinking back to mod list on that 93
these guys move front axle forward and rear backwards to
fit tyres in to stretched arches without interferring with
arches nearest to passanger cabin. that black trol from a
distance almost looks bobtailed as wheel centres further
back.
fancy doing that to your trol then Dave, looks so work a day
not just a show truck. need more of these over here to
show anti modding/4x4 lobby how well it can be done. turned
up at response do, landrovers would roll over and die!
again need more info on whats been done as really something
to aspire to.
