At what point does a vehicle become a “Classic Car”?
I know that at theage of 40 years old as they are then classed as a historic vehicle as they can be MOT exempt depending upon any modifications and also tax exempt.
Then another aspect is peoples opinions, that can and does vary significantly.
Reason I ask is that I have a friend with a 1989 MG Metro in superb condition and he attends local car shows. He keeps asking me to take the Maverick along but I don’t think that it’s a classic but I do believe it’s a survivor especially with it’s condition. The local car club that runs the shows allows any pre 2000 vehicle into the shows. I also know that any of us that know about these trucks can appreciate it and it’s condition.
