Yep over the last couple of days the temp of my Y60 was rising well over half way, never seen before, so need to check the rad out am quite sure it will be half clogged with mud so going to have to attack it with the high pressure jet washer will post pics as I go, need to sort it as got to pick up a 2 tonne load of logs over the weekend with more than a couple of steep hills on the way back, last time I did it was down to first gear for a short section and exhaust gas temp was up to 650 so really do need to have max engine cooling available, Rick

Looks like pics are coming out upside down, this is fan side again quite muddy, gave it a wash off with the hose but not really made any headway, so fired up the pressure washer with the nozzle set on "soap" so pressure a lot more than hose but nothing like high pressure, I can hold my hand in front of it so it will not damage the fins, after an hour or so of this and a lot of mud shifted, decided that it will go back in soak overnight

Once saw a Terrano overheat for the same reason, think it was the only Terrano that I have ever seen overheating.
That soak will of softened all the baked on crap.

Finished off today sorry no time for pics but got over 3Kg of mud in the bucket after giving it a high pressure wash, but having checked it out in fine detail, decided that a rad failure is not something I can contend with so ordered a new one today £120 delivered, Rick

Collected 2 tonnes logs today, there is a steep hill near Netherfield needed 1st gear but temp only just over quarter and air con works so so much better, but will still fit the new rad when it arrives, corrosion has taken its toll, Rick

I am going to put this off for a while as I am developing a noise on the front end, suspect it is the steering pump, plus I need to fit the new 10mm injector pump element as well as check and adjust the valve clearances, if you remember I have installed solid cam followers in place of the rubbish hydraulic ones, new cam cover gasket which I found very hard to source, etc etc, but got a bit of work on at the mo so will do it as and when, but I anticipate the motor will be off the road for at least a week, Rick
You'll get it all sorted Rick I'm sure
