Some of you may have seen this on eBay. I believe it is salvageable. Some bits are better than they look, some are worse.
If my patrol was on the road or I had more time I would keep it.

I’m not looking for much but if anybody is interested,
Best offer takes it.

Kind regards.

Ross

Damn Banshee!!!!!!!!!!

I hadn’t seen that on eBay but to be honest it is the rust IN the chassis rail that does the damage. My old chassis rusted from the inside out. :(

Finding a good SWB chassis is impossible. If I could find one I would have it professionally sandblasted and galvanised.

This is on Facebook, shame it is a Y60 SWB and Y61 LWB but no Y61 SWB. :o

Yes, it was true. :D On Facebook I couldn’t see the Y61 SWB but never checked their website. Thanks. :thumbs

£3200 + 20% VAT + 4% import duty = £3968 + transport. Probably not far off £4500

Lots of money but good to know that they are available. At that sort of money I would be tempted to build my own. Hopefully it is not required. I would think about it but with the ban on the sale of combustion engine powered cars coming in in 2030 I wonder how long it takes before running a combustion engine becomes too expensive.

Hi All,

My apologies if it wasn’t clear the chassis had been advertised for a long time on eBay I bought it and had it delivered from Yorkshire to Cornwall.

IOD do replacement parts as well as complete galv chassis.

Without welding labour I had priced this up:
£200 shot blast
£300 rear section from IOD
Around £6-800 of additional mild steel.
£400 galv
With the cost of welding it’s pretty close to the price you could buy a chassis for now.
I am now offering the chassis for free rather than scrap it.
I am a engineering draughtsman not a fabricator so can’t justify the expense.
Somebody with a home welding set up and time on their hands could rescue it.

Hope it finds a good home,

Kind regards.

Ross
