I have a chance collect some very cheap steel tomorrow and a web search gives me a 765kg load capacity, anyone know if that is correct on a SWB? :nenau Link is for SWB so I'm presuming yes. What i have to collect could easily be up around that weight.

700kg rings a bell.

Thanks, it should be ok as what I am collecting is estimated at 45-50kg a piece and maybe 16 pieces. I will take my baggage scales and check a couple before loading. I had some 2.5x500x1000mm sheets in there a while back and the ride was much better! I selected the 2.7 on that list, the 2.4 that corresponds to the '98 model year shows 880kg although I would take that to be a Commercial.

752kg in the back and the suspension coped quite well, almost level with the saggy torsion bars. :D

Scrap lift shaft counterbalance weights, 20mm x 220mm x 1250mm, my bumper build may be a wee bit heavy duty. :augie

I do want to sort it but will also need the corner of a car to weld in place for the lamp to fit into. Covid 19 has slowed my plans for this year down considerably. :(

Armour plating for the rush hour M25 jostle, that's where the damage came from when an X5 decided to push me under an Artic trailer. :doh

The steel is a cheap option to replace the 3mm sheet covering my welding bench, I can leave gaps for clamping and add a few extra holes on the pillar drill which I would need a Mag Drill to do on a 1800 x 800mm sheet. Then I have the 3mm sheet surplus with some 2.5 & 2mm I gathered last year for Terrano mods leaving more cash for terrano toys. :thumb2

I will, do you know if the later cars with the horrid plastic spectacles around their rear lights have the same body panel pressing?

I'll confirm that for you, not sure myself, but I know a lad with a few old ones that are being scrapped soon so I'll ask him what he can do

With the fuel, Congestion Charge and ULEZ Charge about £90 for 752kg. :thumb2

Congestion Charge was a joke as there wasn’t any!
