Do we have any other Die Cast Car Collectors on the forum?

I have started to amass a collection, the majority of it has come from car boots and charity shops.

I have a feeling I'm about to be hounded but my favourite are Land Rovers :hide: But I only take 4x4,there are a few Jap's within my collection,I've just ordered a couple more from eBay.

When time and space allows I'd like to get some snazzy glass display cases for the study so I can display them with some nice lighting :naughty

Anyone else? Or anyone with any to sell? I'm only a PayPal away, I'll take anything 4x4 in 1:43 1:32 :thumb2

How about a Jensen FF? I'm not a collector but I do like the well made and detailed ones in 1:43. A few years back I started collecting my 12 all time favourite cars for a Lottery win fantasy garage and a Dodge Challenger became a problem in that scale and I have 3 now, one of which involved Kylie Minogue's knicker collection. :naughty

I do have a few in an Inland Revenue key box partially on display and the 12 keeps changing! A Bizzarini 5300 GT would be a nice addition but expensive, my two Iso Grifo have price tags in French Francs.

Not one of mine .......

All of our ferrets are named after chocolates and sweets, so we collect sweet cars and cups.

That is a fantastic collection, Clive, well done, hope your ferrets are doing OK in this lock down, ie no shortage of food, we are finding it not so easy to get cheap raw meat for our Jacks, Rick

The ferrets are ok for food at the moment, as we buy it in bulk, 6 months at a time, and had only just ordered it in before this all started. We have one with heart problems, and he is getting worse over the last couple of weeks. Problem is, he is petrified of the vets after a previous bad experience, and at the moment the vets are working on a system where you pass the pet through a window and they take it away to look at. Without us there to disract him, it would stress him so bad, I think his heart would just give out, so we are walking a tight line keeping him comfy.

I've a collection of around 2500 in 1/64, mainly Hot Wheels and Matchbox. Collection mainly consists of Mini Coopers, Deloreans, 55 Chevy panel vans and a mixture of JDM and Euro cars. Also have a fair collection of the original Lesney, early Dinky and other little oddities. Do have some in other scales but not too many as they take up too much room lol

A unique car for it's time, only 320 built so to drive one is a bit special. :bowI have only been out in one but driven a few Interceptors which have a totally different chassis and are 4" shorter.

Great collection, very unique. The Crunchie Steerman is one of Vic Normans planes used for wing walking, Breitling now I think. :thumb2 He has a fantastic vee twin bike collection, with a lot of Vincent's.

.

I shuddered when I saw the Freelander! :lol No Corgi Daktari Land Rover?

The Crunchie plane took us an age to get one that was not all chipped up, and not silly money. There is a Buttons one as well, but not seen that at a cheap price yet.

The Coke lorry is quite something, it has working lights, and all round the sides of the trailer are little yellow leds as well. It's actually a money box.

Topic, the ferret with heart issues is unfortunately terminal, he is just on palliative care. The hard part with anything like this, is giving him a decent life, rather than just prolonging it. When he has bad days, you are never sure if it is the last ones, or he will come round again. He has just been through a week, where it got very bad, and we thought this was it, then today he has rallied round, and is back to begging for treats, and exploring the garden again.

We have had a very bad time over the last few months, with abscesses, ear infections, and loosing two totally randomly, one during spaying, and another from Pyrometria. It's made us a bit paranoid of going to the vets to be honest.

Anyway, back on topic, these are of the real/fantasy cabinet.

These are either cars we have owned, in one format or another, cars we would like to own, or just models that have taken our fancy for some reason or another. Also the start of my American N gauge is in here.

Thanks, I am OK, part of the fun is "finding" them at a great price. I do actually have the box for that one and paid the grand sum of £4, but we are not collecting them for "value", just fun. The first thing I do, is take them out of the box, and put them in the cabinet. I do have a box of boxes in the loft, but not sure I will ever be able to re-match the correct cars up with the right box now.

The most recent models I got were a special limited edition of a "Rowntrees and KitKat" trucks in a plastic display box. I felt a bit of a heathen unscrewing them from the case, so I could put the two cars in the cabinet, but decided I was doing all the other collectors a favour, as I had just increased the value of theirs.. :lol

Bear in mind its still boxed with the 10 original bars inside still.
And I know what you mean, whenever I buy hot wheels I always buy duplicates so I can keep some carded and open others. The die hards really get upset when you rip open a £100 car lol

:lol Did you ever see the James May program where he bought a rare train set, and opened it in the shop. Very funny.

Like 10 bars of Crunchie chocolate would stay unopened in this house. :doh:lol
