Hi guys, well this week I’ve left my adult children look after the house (don’t mention parties). Have got a place in the Fire Fighters Charity recuperation centre down in Devon. Was a long trip down here with delays but got here yesterday exhausted. Today has been great met some staff and will be attending some sessions this week to help with recovery. Had the swimming pool to ourselves this morning it was so relaxing and the weather is beautiful. So this is something else that I have taken back from cancer.
An amazing place where we will get some much needed help and support.

The Police Federation run a similar sort of place - only reason I did not use it back in the day was that I felt unable to go on my own - the wife could not get time off work, we still had a big mortgage & bills to pay back then. They refused to let my father stay instead so that was that.

I am sure you will find it helps you with the psychological as well as the physical aspects of recovery. Get the best out of it mate you have been through a lot recently.

I see the wagons every working day and guess what I still haven’t got bored of them. Before you ask nope I’m not a chap that climbs ladders and squirts hoses :lol
Beautiful weather down here, wall to wall sunshine. Just mustering the energy to go and find the pool again.

I go to a wee Classic Car breakfast meet that started up in the Chobham area, the guy has some lovely pump and ladder engines he has restored and a couple are the labour of love type where money was not the main consideration and they are worth nowhere near what was spent on them. Truly magnificent machines.
