Welding trolley.

I am in the process of doing a major tidy/clearout of the garage, and busy adding bench space, and shelving.

I then had a disaster when some Chipboard loft panels I am using to make shelving, fell over, and took the Hobby weld cylinder with them, snapping the pipe output off of the regulator.

So, I decided the time had come to make up a welding trolley that would not only hold the bottle better, but also put all the welding stuff into one easy to move place. Suz found a couple of metal office pedestal filing cabinets on Freeagle, and I used one as the basis for my welding trolley.

It's not finished, as I still need to add handles, a fold down shelf, and power points, but I am pleased at how it is coming along.

I hate using the welder from work, the bottle always wants to topple the welder over :lol

That was the problem I was having, the welder is too small for such a large bottle, and it was actually twisting the case. Even trying to move the welder, needing one hand for the bottle, one for the welder, and one for the leads (that's why they call me a "Clever Dick"), was a precarious pass time.

I took the bottle off, and stood it somewhere safe while I was not using it, then while doing something else, I had to shift it as it was in the way. It was only there for a few mins, as I was about to put it back, but then knocked the wood over... It was like watching Domino's falling over in slow motion and knowing there was no way to get there in time to stop it.

Yes, it's a lovely unit, a Plasmapart MMA200. It's an Inverter welder, with a range from 20 to 200amp, so nice and controllable. I can weld down to 1.5mm plate with it, and thinner if it is on a backplate.
