Hi
Silicone sealing around the home has always been my nemesis. I truly hated it and was never happy with the finish that along with being a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to living with something everyday. So watching my efforts staring back at me mocking my incompetence would quickly get really really annoying.

Anyway thought I would put this up as I brought this Fugi 2 Silicone Profiling kit. I have actually found it really easy to use and along with all the different profiles and the grout gap bridging pieces i have by some small miracle had some great results. Well worth a look.

I share your views I am never always happy with the finish I achieve.

Although they say not to, I use the wet finger end as the finishing tool.

I have used the wet finger with water and also been advised to use methylated spirits before instead of water but always seemed to struggle maintaining a even pressure. Like I said I am pretty rubbish at it.
I have never tried it with masking tape though but have used sellotape but has to be genuine as cheap stuff breaks too easily. Thankfully did not bother with tape using this kit.

Give me 80 years and I would still show you a rubbish job. Honestly mate I watch with envy you guys that can do it really well without thinking about it.

I have a similar set, never used to use them much but due to poorer eyes and the odd muscle spasm beginning to use them more, you still cannot beat a nice straight from the nozzle run but I am finding it much harder to do, so often resort to the profiles, Rick
