hi folks ,

you may have noticed that I haven't been around much ,

this is mainly due to a few medical problems , I'm losing my sight in my right eye ( currently at 25 % ) due to chronic open angle glaucoma ) , although the doctors say there is no cure for this , they can help it with medication and its possible my sight may improve slightly ,

I had to contact dvla , and amazingly I'm still allowed to drive , because my left eye meets current eyesight standards .

besides the above I'm having lots of computer problems , cant use Microsoft edge as it keeps closing when I open it , also sometimes internet explorer does the same , and I cant get my head around chrome .

I hope this explains things .

kind regards to you all

When I had Win 10 on this Laptop I found MS edge crap and never used it or the Bing search engine. I loaded Google Chrome and it's great as the same favourites are on all my devices using the Chrome Account log on set up.

I found Classic Shell loaded onto Win 10 stopped all the crashing about that Edge did plus I could choose the Menu layout I(Win 7) wanted and revert to Win 10 at the press of a button.

I used to use firefox but now just use it for the Mozilla Thunderbird Mailbox programme.

My favourite used to be Netscape but that gone the same way as Betamax I think.

Briggie,

Welcome back, hope the medical problems resolve themselves......:thumb2

Win 10 'edge' is awful......I needed a pc at very short notice on a visit back, and got 2nd hand recond netbook......with win 10......aaaaargh!

I use win 8.1 at home no problem....win 10/edge is virtually unuseable to me, so may be resetting the netbook back to an earlier version of win........if it aint broke, why oh why do they insist on 'fixing' it......:nenau
