View Full Version : Banshee's on another Adventure...........
........................
I wont start another project thread yet as I'm not sure what it's fate will be yet but I'll be fetching this after work tomorrow night.
Nowhere for it so I'm going to see how long I get away with stealth parking with tactical movement around spots at work before someone realises I'm not actually using it :lol

How much energy do you have !!!!
Liking the lights either side if the tow bar, is something I would like to add myself.
Looking forward to another Banshee project :thumb2

Sounds good. It is for reversing mostly but would be useful as lightning for work. Will get some welding done and see what cash is available.

Very nice, well done.....nothing like making work for yourself......I'm trying to stop all that......:nenau :D :thumb2
So I sprinted to the car park at 4:30pm on the dot when I finished work today to make it 5 mins before closing at the trailer hire place :bow
Paid my desposit, he showed me the straps and how to use them even though I only discovered there were 3 sets when I got there :doh must tell him when I drop it back off tomorrow, it was an all singing all dancing 500kg Ifor Williams Twin Axled Hydraulic Tipper with hand winch , ramps the works :thumb2 £50 for 24 hours :thumb2
Once it was on I set off to Peterborough to fetch it :thumb2
I got there and I'm astounded as to actually how straight it is given it was being given away
This one is def going to see the tarmac again I reckon but I will reserve the right to retract that stament prior to an inspection underneath in the daylight.
Here it is just pulled up whilst I had a jimmy riddle :lol

Looks nice mate, be interesting to see how this goes. Good luck
Going to slap my spare Lucas battery on it after work, if it gives me the impression it wants to go, I'll drain the tank and get some fresh fuel in.
I'll test all functions including 4x4 and then make a decision as to it's fate :nenau

Like a dream, didn't even know it was there apart from the indicator buzzer and increase in fuel consumption :lol :doh
Very nice indeed, let us know where you got the trailer from, not a bad price that, all inclusive.
I like the red light relection on the wing and bonnet, very Harry Potter lol :thumb

Edit...
Don't forget to take your number plate home lol...

Got the trailer from Poulter Trailer Hire in Kenilworth, nice bunch of lads, it's actually a side venture by the looks of it that a lad is running out of the garage he owns called Crackley Garage.
I was thinking of getting it made in Vinyl Decals
It's nowhere near the standard of yours uncle
Had a play with the new truck tonight after work..............
Had a play with the new truck tonight after work..............
If I had the inclination, I would definitly have a go at sorting that one, especially with the knowledge that I have gained over the years about these trucks.
What would I spend on it?
Labour... for the love of it... chance to make a good return.:thumb2
Parts... to the maximum I could get for it if I was to break it.
No brainer, nice little earner.:thumb2

Possibly :D
I got changed last night into my scruffs and started to pull tools out etc, I grabbed the 3 litre battery and managed to bodge it in place by spinning it round and tipping it forward.
Jumped in and turned the key, dash lights all lit up, left it for a little bit, heard the click of the glow plug relay, turned the key again and after about 5 revolutions of the engine it sputtered into life :D :D :D it coughed twice and sat there idling like a dream
https://youtu.be/TocIf-Xely4
My phone died after I took that video otherwise I would have done one of me ragging it around the fields at work in 4 low :sly
So yeah everything works on it apart from the electric windows!!!!! Oh and the window wipers actually make things worse [emoji38]
Still haven't done a visual inspection of all the problem areas yet but that's next on the list
Good start
So I stole a few minutes today at break time and had a look at the Terrano again and just wanted to check a few more of the problem areas that are prone to the dreaded tin worm and the initial prognosis is that it's a damn solid truck apart from the drivers side wing and the sills.
Is there anyone with a template for some new sills and does anyone fancy an earner to knock me some up?
Here's some pics I managed to snap;
Rear boot floor

Rear belt anchor points complete and intact with sound deadening :naughty

https://image.ibb.co/bN0bUF/20170912_105202_1280x720.jpg
Minimal rusting of the bumper reenforcer and solid looking front crossmember too
https://image.ibb.co/k4buGv/20170912_105409_720x1280.jpg
No holes or crusty bits here either :clap
https://image.ibb.co/i6Ks3a/20170912_105437_1280x720.jpg
All of the body mounts look good, checked the 4 corner ones, not been able to check the centre ones yet as I was in shirt and tie :doh
Chassis and body don't have any holes underneath that I can see so far.
Looks good rot wise really for the age, Rad mount looks nice, Front arches look nice. Good find :)

Shout out to Bat for posting the advert and a pat on the back to myself for pitting everyone else to the post and getting my arse into gear getting a trailer and fetching it :thumbs
That looks great, engine sounds sweet, epic engine the 2.7 and no cat on that one so nice and powerful.
I've read before, but on that style on Terrano or that style on Maveric, not sure which one now, but they did a MUCH better job of rust proofing compared to the newer trucks?

I think when Ford took on the Maverick, it was their first car to have a 3 year warranty, so I think the Ford spec was probably higher than the Nissan spec of the time.
Speaking with 22 years of experience, I think Ford made a good decision.

That being said, all TDi Mavericks came with Zexel Pump and a Hitachi MAF which I wouldn't have again from past experience, Bosch is a way stronger pump.
You put two terranos side by side, same year etc etc but have one Bosch and one Zexel and I promise you the Bosch would get away quicker!!!
