My Jeep is going to need some brake pads soon so am looking for options as replacements.
The Original Mopars are quite cheap at around £38.35 delivered with lots of slightly dearer options like Brembo etc.

I don't want hard high performance pads that need to warm up and might squeal.

Out of choice I prefer a slightly softer pad that is kinder on the discs - not fussed about the extra black dust. Price is not really an issue as long as it's not off the Richter Scale. lol
Back in the 1970's I used to buy Belaco pads for my Cooper and they were brilliant. Nice pedal feel with loads of brake dust and my discs were like polished glass without a rut after 40k miles. I guess they were Asbestos based! They would last about 2 years. If they still exist I guess the mix will have changed with the demise of asbestos brake materials.

Anyone got any recommendations based on experience ?

I'm no connoisseur but I usually end up with Mintex, can't recall any problems and I think that's what I have on the truck now too.

Mintex have been renowned first class brake products for as long as I can remember as can Ferrodo Rick

Rang my local trade outlet P.C.S. and they can offer me Blue Print or Ferodo Premier both at around £35.00 incl VAT.

Unfortunately two different calipers were fitted and they can't tell from my VRM which of the two types mine are as they were not chassis number specific. One type is Akobono design ? and the other isn't !

Have taken a photo of the caliper so will check which mine are. Anyone know if this is Akobono ? I suspect it isn't but it's the other more normal type!

Yeah Akobono looks like the ones I have as Ate/Teves calipers have a long wire clip on the outside.

I think itchifanni are for the Japanese Market. lol
