I put my runner bean plants outside a couple of days ago and tonight I was about to water them when I noticed the top leaves had gone a grotty white look at the top on almost every plant except one tub that was near my hedge.

Any Percy Thrower types here, there has been no frost here since they have been outside but it has been quite breezy ?

Ahem, on a more serious and mature note, I think you could be correct in thinking the wind has something to do with this. I've heard it called wind burn.

Serious and mature......:nenau
However.........we had such serious frosts out here 2 weeks ago (-6°C), that the early leaves of Figs, Ginkos and Walnuts, were completely burnt off.....some of the younger tender ones may not reshoot and survive......:(

Is this windburn related to wind chill ?
