Nice and out the way up there. Only thing to double check is you might need longer leads on the caravan.

Thanks for the advice but I already checked it as they did look a bit short but have in fact got a nice reach on them :D

That's handy, just thought I would mention it...
My camera lead to the caravan is a one of those MOD screw together 7 pin jobbies, and it was over to one side of where the number plate used to be. Had it on there for 3 years, then one day, I was reversing the caravan in to a very tight position, and just as I really needed the camera, it went black... When I checked, with the car just short of being jackknifed, the wire could not quite reach that far across, and had pulled the socket off the back of the car, and snapped all the wires...
 lucky then, for now i just have one on the truck for hitching up with but later I plan on getting a duel camera wireless setup so I can use one camera to hitch up then switch channels to the second camera on the back of the van.

Haha exact same location as I put the sockets on my old truck. Same camera location on my project truck. Guess what both my trucks are going to get the same too.

I love having the camera on the back of the caravan. Mine is up high, meaning it gives a great rear view when travelling, making pulling in once you have overtaken something so much easier.
I have a Waeco system on my car, which can handle 3 cameras. I have 2 on the car, one looking back, and one looking down, then the one on the caravan. On Suz's car, I had a spare Waeco camera, so put that up on the roof, as a rear view camera, then I mounted one in the bumper, roughly where yours is for reversing/coupling. These are fed into a cheap fold down monitor on the top of the dash, which only supports 2 cameras, so I used a 2 way RCA switcher box mounted down on the passenger side kick panel to change from the rear car roof camera, to the caravan camera.
