Is this the Rustic Meet? If so, a distance he's comfortable with so he can split if he has to. Not fussy where myself. As for when, if it happens to be holiday time we'll combine it with the meet:naughty

I'd have thought a summer Saturday afternoon/evening (give the day trippers time to get there and home) somewhere pretty close to Rustic. Sensible amount of parking (i.e. not a mid village pub with three parking spaces). Somewhere that can cope with a biggish (hopefully) group and feed them at a reasonable price.

Just my thoughts.

If it is, chemo will finish in September ish, might manage something before, BUT.... If treatment goes pear shaped, I sometimes find myself on the way to hospital and cancel all other arrangements. :doh

Might be better to organise yourselves and advise me, and if I can tag along I'll try to be there. I don't know if that might work or not.

For the record, we are in Staffordshire, so Derbyshire, Cheshire and adjacent counties should be accessible to us, but also we try to spend time in Oxford, so even an hour south is possible.

Is there a campsite and a hotel nearby any location we choose too. I don't know those areas very well but Rustics suggestions seem fine but Oxford may be a bit far south for me but I also understand we have people from all over so it's please the masses and not the individuals.

No space, no time, no enthusiasm to finish it coupled with the fact that it's going to cost me almost £60 a month to insure and store it.

When is a meeting a meeting...?

Is it just two members who organise a get together that others might join if they can make it.?:nenau

Maybe, we publicise ALL meetings, date, time place, objective, eg lane, camp, coffee, meal.

It would suit me better, I would hate to be part of a meet, and then pull out literally on the day, or even during the meet.
I have been really good since chemo on Thursday, best yet, but... suddenly I feel fatigued and look for a bed or comfortable chair for a couple of hours for a rest.
So best do your own thing, We'll join in. It is something I would like to do.

We all understand your circumstances rustic because you've told us and it's appreciated. If a meet is organised close enough for us all to meet you and your better half it'll be grand. But if you turn queer and need to go or lay down for a couple of hours, that's fine also. :thumbs
It'll be good to put faces to names and I'm hoping there'll be more than one meeting. :)

More than one meet?

I replied to Zippy as he'll be in Sheffield so close enough to have a quick mini meet. I was thinking have a larger meet maybe a weekend nearer to Staffordshire when Uncles feeling up to it. My thinking is that a weekend so that it allows members from further a field chance to pitch up for a night maybe a camping site with a hotel nearby. I thought this would be a more inclusive meet, aren't I being politically correct for once:thumbs

Nothing to stop us having as many meets in whatever areas that people want.

Elty put me onto a couple of lanes Beeley way, which were sensible, manage on your own stuff. Although it was bone dry. :thumbs I love the Peak District.

I'd be up for a Peak meet over the summer and again getting together with Rustic later in the year.
I'd be looking at camping, and just to raise the stakes a campsite that permits campfires (that'll be a farmer's field). There's no point in camping if you can't sit around a campfire. :D

This is great, there really is a great group of people on here :D

I'm keeping an eye on this from afar as whenever anything happens I need to make sure I can book a holiday (as I work weekends) and I also need to finish my truck which there really is no timescale on at the moment as its not just engine work. But if I can make anything I will be there.

Just saw two words that turned my Mav's gearbox over...:eek:

"Stanage Edge"... Don't think my Mav will look at that one lol.. But I'd watch others though...

Not sure we could make Wed/Thur, these tend to be the chemo days, and if not there we visit our Grandson.

Can I just throw this in here?
It'd be nice if there was a campsite associated to any drinking/eating establishment for those of us who spend enough time in hotels to not want to when out on jollies.
