Without seeing the front or rear it looks like an old kit car that used to be produced in our area. Think the fibreglass body comment adds a little weight to it being the kit car. If it is then the engine and running gear was from Cortina's.

pretty sure was only 2wd, as said parts from cortina, even doors?
recall an article in a 4wd mag comparing various kit types, though at cost to build
an doner vehicle could have acquired a real 4x4

Definitely a Dutton Sierra with Weller wheels.
Dutton Sierra I think
I 100% agree Dutton Sierra.
In fact this was named as a Sierra long before Ford named the Ford Sierra that followed the Mk IV Cortina.
There were many discussions re names and Trademarks at the time, but Ford had more ££££ than Dutton, so Ford were able to use the Sierra name.
Yes only 2 wheel drive, but it paved the way to show that some people wanted this type of vehicle.

yep, as others have said, Dutton Sierra on cortina running gear.
getting rare now, as are my particular toys - Rickman Rangers, and the other ford based lovelies - Jago Geeps.
people keep breaking them for the ford running gear, especially the mk1/2 escorts :-(
