That's quite impressive but then again I saw a high quality rebuild in the late 1960's of a 1912 Vauxhall that had been used on a Farm to keep chickens in ! Parts that could not be restored or found in the market place were re-built from scratch using a lathe and sheet metal rolling.

The guy that did the re-build was an old school mechanic sadly now deceased named Harold Impey. He worked full time restoring Vintage and Veteran Vauxhalls for his Boss. The cars went all over Europe for Shows and Rallys they ended up in Spain where his Boss retired after he sold his dealership.

Maybe you were, maybe you weren't, but were you going to do it with a homemade crane, homemade axle stands, outside in ankle deep sludge?

Errrr, no.

He wins, suck it up.

I wouldn't be as stupid to do it on my back in ankle deep mud!!!! That would be awful to work in

I dunno. Mud wrestling your body off the chassis could give the neighbours a giggle :lol

That's impressive and I'd love to do that and maybe have the chassis galvanised. He did seem to miss sorting the body at the same time, theres a good chance of some rot that will be easy to sort out at the same time.

And here was me thinking how easy it would be to slap a 3" body lift on it as it was all going back together :naughty

A few years ago there was a member from Northern Ireland who galv'd his chassis. Eventually he offered the truck for sale on here but think it went through ebay probably not to be appreciated for what it was.

Forgive my ignorance, but can you galvanise a steel chassis or does it all have to be rebuilt in galv using the old chassis for reference? :nenau

Galvanising is basically a dip in a zinc bath.

You get any higher bloke and you'll need to think about fitting an elevator to the outside to get in and out.
