Just wondering if anyone on here knows anything about the Toyota RAV4, specifically reading the fault codes?
It's a 2001 2.0GX Petrol
My Mum purchased one without telling me in advance, a few months back from a dreaded dealer selling from a farm barn (she says as I live so far away she didn't want to bother me!). He sold it as a "Trade" sale as a "favour" to keep the price down, and has subsequently turned out to be less than scrupulous and not the "really nice man" he was when selling it to her... I have to shake my head here, I did think she was a bit more worldly wise than this..
Since she got it, it has had one little niggle after another, including a leaking petrol tank, and a check engine light that keeps coming on. He has taken the car back a few times to supposedly fix it, but the light keeps coming back on. I think this time though, from what she has said, it looks like he has just taken the bulb out...
She paid cash, and it is now about 6 months since this all started, and the car is now running rough again, and he says there is nothing else he can do, and is washing his hands of it, as she has had the car so long now...
It's not a car I know anything about, and I am doing a bit of Google searching, but just wondered if anyone on here might know a bit about them..
