Hi,
Obviously not a complete guide to vehicle condition but checking the MOT history can give you a healthy indication as to the state of the truck and any possible expenditure/things to look at when viewing. Plus possible bargaining points if you do like the truck.
Check out the link

I thought this was ok because it had a bill in the paper work for 1200 quid on new parts that had been fitted:lolso didn't think much could go wrong with it after having that spent on it :lol

Due to my wifes being in the process of been written off i have been looking recently. As said use the link to check mot history, I've had my eyes opened at some of the trucks on ebay and autotrader. Basically they are all going to be 10 years old or older, think the tax bracket changed to £500 on 55 plates. They will all have some degree of rust and faults but not always a deal breaker. There are sensible prices and simply stupid prices too. I quite fancy a 3.0litre as they tend to be more powerful and better mpg.
Run yours for a few months and see what faults appear, chances are most of them will have been come across and fixed on here. Might be worth fixing yours and making it nice and straight.
And if you love driving it now wait until you have driven it in the snow or tried the odd green lane:thumbs
Haha I went down a couple of lanes in clumber park today and s*** myself john was laughing his head off at me but enjoyed it.definitely getting another terrano we love it but abs and new matrix/core :nenaujust might be to much to spend on it we think :nenaudon't know what to do but seen some beauties on auto trader.

Remove passenger front wheel and inspect the abs wire, don't know why but this one seems to be the one that breaks. Seems to break where the cable is clipped to the suspension arm. I fixed this on my original truck and it ran for years once repaired before needing replacing.
What have the garage said about the matrix and abs faults?
The garage we got it from don't want to no they just said it was part ex there not machanics they just sell them.but spoke to a lad who bought a car from there and when it broke down 3 weeks after they had bought it his missis took it back and they told her to get lost.I do no John's had words on the phone with the bloke at the garage and the language was terrible :lol.the machanic who did the other work on it is going to have a look at the abs and matrix when is new born and wife are all settled :thumbs

OK doesn't sound nice at all, sometimes it is easier just to get on and sort it out isn't it.
Well tell your mechanic to check the cable for passenger side front abs sensor where it clips to the suspension arm. Think the wire fatigues with all the movement. I had to cut the wire and solder in a new section of wire to fix mine.
What sort of price would I be looking at to get the heater core repaired as it's a nightmare at the minute with the weather no heating and condensation?

If it saves him an hour, that's a few quid left in your pocket.
I always give manual to my mechanic when he's working on my t2. Always saves me money.
