In England & Wales using a firearm near a highway is not prohibited – but it is an offence without lawful authority or reasonable excuse to discharge any firearm within fifty feet of the centre of a highway/carriageway IF in consequence a user of the carriageway is injured, interrupted or endangered..........:nenau

Drones are not a user of the carraigeway are they......

Not to mention if you miss it and the pellet leaves your boundary you're breaking the law

No idea about legality in the UK - but I'd know what to do if it were flying over my garden ;)

Also it needs to be 1 shot 1 kill if it has a camera fitted:augie don't want no incriminating footage:doh

They now have counter drones, that can take down another drone by ejecting a net.

I practice fly fishing in my garden, cast, sorry, accidentally cast over it, should tangle the blades in the line, oh dear, didn't see that or expect that in my garden, oh is it broken, did it fall into my pond? fly fishing...an alternative exercise for strengthening your right wrist lol,

Catapult, use ice cubes :augie

Problem is... if the video is streaming, the last thing it transmits is, it being grounded and you smashing it with a baseball bat...:doh
So try not to damage it, disable the battery supply, store it safely, but refuse to give it back unless you are issued with a court order, then charge a storage fee lol...

A bit of lead just under the left rotor motor might just do it lol.
Oh that reminds me, I must check out my .22 webley Mk III
When I was younger, I could take the heads off matches at 50 yards lol.

Invasion of privacy... we have grand children at our house, the operators could be paedophiles call the Police, tell them they are videoing the child's bedroom get them to confiscate it, and arrest them.

Shooting it is not good, because of what could happen if you get it wrong, although there is an American company that make a special shot gun cartridge containing magnetic shot, designed specifically for shooting down drones... Still illegal to use though...

The best answer I have found is to install a load of electronically triggered firework rockets in your garden, and then "accidentally" let them off when it flies over... Ground to air missiles.:thumb2

A question that our radio/electronics wizzards could answer.......

What frequency, range, power does the tx/rx system have on these things?

Is it not possible to produce some sort of very localised (average garden area) jamming signal, that either overpowers or syncs with these things that just incapacitates them, then let gravity work........:nenau

The frequencies must be fairly common, approved and published, so easily obtained. Also not conflict with life preserving electronics or household items, otherwise everything would go haywire.....

There are 5 frequencies,
26.96MHz to 27.28MHz Original RC band
458.5MHz to 459.5Mhz Second addition
34.945MHz to 35.305MHz New(ish) addition, aircraft only.
40.66MHz to 41MHz New(ish) addition, Surface vehicles only

The most recent addition is the 2.4GHz band, but this is used for all sorts of localised communications, including Wifi etc.

The transmitters all have a maximum radiated power of 100mW.

Jamming is dangerous, as only the more expensive ones have fail safes that will cause them to return to their point of origin, most of the other types will probably just go out of control and could injure someone.

i can cover all of the frequencies mentioned above , apart from 2.4 ghz , with my amateur radio ....... er sorry my friend can :o

The Drone operator is breaking the law as it should not fly within 50 M of a person or in a built up area or within 150 M of any building not owned by the drone operator.

Not sure how Amazon can ever use Drone delivery in the UK.

I like the idea of casting practice in the rear garden ! lol
