Hi all,

Just would like to share my joy that my Terrano has gone through MOT without failure!:augie Only one advisory for this year was rear tyres being worn which I already have been aware of.

I've been relieved and for now I can celebrate. Will replace rear tyres in next week. I'm also glad that I didn't use Hal****s, found a better garage called Universal Tyres & Auto Centres. They are so friendly and quick. My MOT was done in just over an hour so that I could just wait in their waiting room working on my laptop. They also changed my headlight bulbs when I asked them to get some advice:clap £35 was worth to pay for this kind of service. (So I chucked my old garage as they got quotation wrong, slow communication, incorrect advice on what parts need to be replaced)

Let me pay my appreciation to Rick who replaced suspension anti roll links and topped up gear oil, coolant, gave me some good advice:thumbs

Brilliant news and sounds like uncle rick has worked his magic once again so well done to him. Must be a relief finding a garage you can trust again too.

Well done, now enjoy your car:thumbs

Thank you!:D

I was a bit worried about rust underneath as there are some small holes on rear inner cills which Rick told me it should be ok as Terrano's chassis is strong - so as he predicts! But I'm going to take care of rust underneath as it's slowing eating them.

Yep finding a Garage you have trust in must be a good feeling especially come MoT time.
Most of the places I used to use when I was younger have either closed down or the owners have retired and sold up.

Sadly with PLC's now often owning Main Dealerships that used to be Family Run it's getting harder to find good places as modern workshops are big cash cows these days. The "One Man Band" local mechanic I used to use for horrible suspension type work has pretty much retired now. He rented a small workshop nearby and when the elderly owner of the rented lock ups died his family in London gave everyone notice to quit and the site was sold for infill housing.

I used to do most car repairs myself until about 5 years ago then I got rid of my old faithful 2.5 Ton Block & Tackle and Dunlop Telescope Tracking Irons. So many MoT stations now see the test as an opportunity to milk more money out of motorists and you are at your most vulnerable at testing time.
