What's the view of our community of the LED & CREE type bulbs that you can use to replace interior festoon bulbs and your standard tungsten fillament type side, stop & tail type bulbs ?

Are they worth the bother in terms of better illumination etc ?

Did a before and after on the Terrano rear plate, I'm sure there was a member on her making them and I brought a few and they are still going strong

Left bulb is the LED and right is the normal filament bulb

Inside the car I have found the COB LEDs seem the best as they seem less directional, so give a better light. I have replaced the bulb in Suz's cubby hole (ohh err) and my main courtesy light, but did take a bit of modding to fit them.

Banshee,

That looks quite impressive on the number plate I think I will start with the number plates first and see how it goes.

I have found cheaper LEDs are not long lived and soon start to flicker. I bought some festoon bulbs from Sweety which have been fine as interior at the very back but not done anything with the fron interior lights.
I fancy playing with a pcb and some white LEDs that I have for the high level brake light. Would like some kind of good led lamp for the boot area.

Obviously they will need to be fitted the right way round but is there an LED version of a Capless Bulb ?

Any links welcome especially if used by a member.
