I was looking through some old photos today and was a bit miffed that I could not find the only picture I have of a scooter I owned back in 1966.
I started off life on 2 driven wheels with a 49cc NSU Quickly Moped, followed by a couple of Capri 80 & 90 models, a Heinkel,a Prinz 250 then before I moved up to motor cycles proper I bought a 1963/4 A registration Maico Letta 250 cc with full windscreen, 4 speed floor pedal change in Black with Yellow rear panels and front mudguard. It had electric start and a clock on the dashboard!
Found a photo of a Maico online but it is missing the front screen. Flat out it would show 80 on the speedometer but top speed was in fact only 68 mph. My mate had a Triumph Tigress 250 but it would not corner like the Maico as the Tigress had incredibly small wheels.
