So there I am sat in the car at the local co-op and a car pulls up quite close to mine. The lady paying no attention opens her car door bashing mine hard without a care in the world. She did not even notice me sat there untill I beeped the horn and lowered the window saying if it has it has damaged my car then I will need her insurance details. Then she start saying it was not her fault blaming the size of her car and the small parking spaces.
When she got back just to make a point I showed her the damage ( slight nick in side trim, my paint on her door ) telling that i would need her details.
She then got all excitable saying it was not her fault and it was only a small dent and it is a old car anyway (hers was 1 year old) but after some time and much searching in her glovebox gave me her details. I gave her them straight back and told her very politely to be more bloody careful in the future.
Why do people think that it is okay to damage someone else's property without so much as a apology.
Sorry for the rant, this stuff just really gets on my nerves

Sadly it's the population of this country we live inbut I'm sure she is in a minority though it doesn't feel like it.
It's the same thing with other people's driving. Friday I was driving a minibus full of kids out of Portsmouth on a dual carriageway. There was a two lane slip road joining with the ns lane becoming a third lane and the os lane joining my lane with give way lines across it as it joined my lane. Now normally I will tend to adjust my speed to allow others to join safely. On this occasion I'm driving the bus with a speed limiter fitted and it was busy so the lane to my right was full. This chap comes up the slip road in a white transit blowing his horn because he ran out of lane trying to push in in front of me. Then he proceeds to pull up along side hurling nice expletives to me whilst I've got a bus full of kids.
It's the way of the world I guess but it certainly isn't a pleasant world.

Thomas61.
This is why I drive an old shed & have done for many years.
I know it's not the point as we should ALL respect each other's property, but many people don't.
I don't see how she could say "it's not her fault as it's a big car & a small space". FFS. I guess it must be your fault for parking there :doh
She drove the "big car", she chose that space.
When I drive the Monaro & park anywhere, I'm always on edge.
When I had the Trans-Am I used to take up two spaces (don't worry there was always plenty more). I still do this now with the Monaro & at well over £1000.00 a bumper (if you could find one) do you blame me ;)

Do not blame you at all for parking over 2 spaces with the Monaro, that is a fine looking car. It was her attitude when she opened the door that really got to me.
A bloke I know would ask for £50 for paint, filler and his time to repair in my situation. Even though his car looks like it has spent its life on a golf driving range he tells them it's the principle of the thing.
