Fitted a reversing camera & monitor on Saturday.
We all know how high these 4X4's are when there's small bollards about in car parks etc.

Quite a easy job really. I wired the camera up to the reverse light wires.
I took a feed off some wiring Clive had already installed for the dash cam USB port.
The hardest part was the heat of the day.

I trailed the wire from the monitor to the camera across the inside of the headlining to the screen down post & positioned it behind the trim, under the edge of the door sill covers, under the boot carpet & through the little bung to the left of the fuel pump access hatch.
The only part of the wire showing is around 50mm that comes from the back of the monitor to the courtesy light housing.
Any way a few pics of the result.

The picture quality is really good. The camera is supposed to have IR LED's, but I'm in bed before dark :lol

The monitor comes with a 3M sticky pad & it thought this place was ideal.

It's overall cost was £17.80 off eBay.

No mate. I guess it's all set up in the software.

I tried it out on a battery to begin with, to get an idea of where to position the camera. Initially I thought of up high under the spoiler. After viewing the footage I decide above the No plate. It seams the perfect place too. When reversing anything at the bottom of the screen is around 150mm from the spare wheel. So bang on.

You could buy more cameras and make up a switch box.
If you have a tow bar what better way to help you hitch up.

I really like it.:thumb2

Mounting a Camera on the passengers door step might be a bit Pervy though ?

You could put one in the rear of the caravan, when reversing too.:thumb2

I have that, but I have it on all the time, it's handy to see those idiots on push bikes who think it is a good idea to site right up the back of you when going through towns, and the same for vans that do the same on the motorway.
