Very lucky, seeing stuff like this makes me cringe, but at the same time it could be classed as natural selection :lol

Snatching I see a lot a Slindon, where possible I warn bystanders to stay well clear but most simply take no notice, and yes seen several times shackles and hooks penetrating windscreens or rear windows, scary stuff, I have synthetic rope on both my winches and spare in the back if I need more length, as well as heavy strops, have yet to get any form of ground anchor and from what I remember of Piccadilly wood I may need to get one for the future, Sunday will tell, Rick

Most vids I've seen of snatching have been without a proper elastic strop, just a normal one :nenau

Sounds like your gonna have fun on sunday mate :naughty

I have never been a lover of kinetic rope, too much open to what = lack of control, once that rope is stretched, control is lost, I prefer the winch, slow and easy, have recovered many commercial vehicles from mud usually on building sites, my best was a 43 Ton mobile crane up to his axles, 20 ton winch 1 inch steel wire 3 blocks to different anchor points, with a Drot dozer pushing as well came out slow and easy, Rick

I'm not sure but I don't think they are too popular over here, aussies love em though.
Winching is the way I want to go, like you said more control!!

I am back in Swansea at the moment, and had to do my good turn for the century....a very large camper van got itself stuck up a very steep tarmac road (near as dammit 45 Deg at some point! ), on a bad twisted camber around a corner. It's front wheel drive could not pull it around....probably driver failure by not giving enough momentum...AGM etc......

Anyway, I nobly say....I think I can help......a driver was already there in a nice Volvo740GL estate, with a Kinetic rope, I say....I don't think your car will do that.......so I get in position, he attaches his rope to me and the van, I gently take up the slack and.........bang rope snapped at the knot that I told him it would snap on.......then provided my own 5 tonne strap and shackles, applied power gently in low low 4x and hey presto, after some tyre smoking and shouting at the idiot van driver to straighten his wheels and use some of his own power.......up he comes....a round of applause all around, no drama, no damage....gently gently catches monkey....I love these trucks.....:D
