Please do not think for one minute that voting out will be instant or indeed achievable, there is no law that says the government has to follow what you vote, indeed it will take two years or more to exit due to crap rules set up on joining, France for instance said crap to these laws when we first joined and for those that remember, they burnt our lambs that were exported from the UK under the then new EU rules, been countless other irregularities since, they think that as we abide by the rules that they can still dictate for the next 2 years during exit negotiations, well I think we should do as the French do and that is as of Brexit say stuff em, but in reality are the BRITISH public going to say brexit ??????????????????????? I do not know, but unlike most of you out there I really do not give a stuff as I am immune from therm , night all on this very special day,Rick

I was wondering when this thorny subject would pop up.
For what it's worth I'm in and here's why.
I know the EU is balloxed and overtly corrupt BUT the EU has brought peace to 28 member states. In Poland and Hungary the EU is seen as the last defence against their authoritarian governments. I don't think we should leave them alone.
Cooperation not Confrontation.
I live/love the beaches here where I live and the countryside I drive around in. None of those environments would be habitable if the EU hadn't forced UK govts to tidy up it's fookin mess.
As for immigrants well there we need to man up and play the game to the rules. So no cash in hand monkeys at 5 quid an hour shit. Pay the min wage.
Britain is no longer some land steeling Empire, it's hanging on the ruddy edge cause it's playing with the big boys at the moment. Nip out that school gate and the ruff kids will get us .
Love and peace :splif

I don't really think it matters which way the vote goes,Governments will do what they feel is best whether we like it or not.
I think they should put a box of condoms through the letterbox with your voting card cos you are gonna get f****d either way:lol:lol:lol

I've just had a long chat with my MD about the whole topic, very interesting stuff once you get into the business and economic side of things. For what it's worth my company is a privately own Danish group. Taking a Europewide point of view is very enlightening.
I'm even more comfortable with my choice of vote than I was this morning.
I'm not that concerned about the no vote winning the referendum either, there are still a couple of plot twists yet. :)

I originally voted to join the "Common Market" but had no idea at the time that we would be heading for a Federal Europe I thought it was all about Free Trade.

The government might just go for the EEA option thus effectively ignoring the voters.

Either way it will make little or no difference to me in my lifetime.

Unfortunately our government is far to corrupt and lacking balls to make a difference one way or another, I for one will contribute the least I can to a system that allows immigrants into this country and promptly gives them much more than my grand daughters can get, a system that sends our/my money to corrupt regimes, a system that allows wholesale disregard regarding MP's fiddling expenses, I will stop there as am going to bed, got early job :naughty to do am, Rick

I guess we have what we wished for.
I hope it turns out to be what we really do want and that we are going to get the improvements that the leave votes believe are out there.
Adios cheap weekends away in Europe.
Adios free healthcare when we travel.
Adios Erasmus education for our children.
Adios trade agreements and chunks of exports.
Hola visas.

I'm struggling to see haw a corrupt UK government is going to change just because we have left Europe. I fail to see how immigration diminishes the opportunities of UK citizens (there are now 27 fewer opportunities). I fail to see how leaving Europe has changed our border control- we had border control yesterday as we weren't in Schengen. I fail to see how an estimated 16% price increase on my products is a good thing. I fail to see how increased unemployment is a good thing. I fail to see how increased retail prices is a good thing.

Not a day for this Briton to be proud.

At least I've got a couple of years to plan my escape... :)

Yup, time to start learning a second language!

Apart from the fact that the sum of £350m was totally incorrect, Mr Farage is now saying that it was a mistake to promise this.
Why didn't he say this yesterday?
Corruption takes many forms.

I voted to leave simply on the basis that we should make our own laws and be in charge of our own destiny.

My late mother would today be branded an economic migrant she fled post war torn Austria in 1953. I came to the UK when I was 5 years old speaking no English and became a UK Citizen when I was 12 years of age.
I remember quite clearly being interviewed by a Plain Clothed Police Officer who endorsed my application to become a UK citizen.(At that time Special Branch had the role of enforcing Immigration Legislation)

I was in 1970 offered a job at Rolls Royce & Associates in Derby only to have the offer withdrawn when they found out afterwards that I was not first generation British.
As a sign of how things have changed when I was a serving Police Officer I went on to work in Special Branch for 4 years and part of my duties involved security checks for.....RR & A !! The irony did not escape me.

I just hope that we do not have a period of poor management by our Government who will put all the blame for their own incompetence on the leave voters.

I remember when we went decimal and inflation ravaged us that this was blamed initially for the price rises when in fact it was Harold Wilson's devaluation of the pound and the Governments relationship with the trade unions that led to unrealistic wage demands.

It's going to be a bumpy ride on the first part of our journey outside the EU but the destination will be worth the short term pain. Last time it was the Bankers that messed us up and the electorate bailed them out.

After the MP's expenses scandal I put Politicians a couple of rankings below a used car salesman lets see if we have a new leader who will step up to the plate and make Britain Great again !

Now it's the electorate telling the government what it wants I call that true democracy. I have no vested financial interest in the outcome like many of the Remainers. The Surfs have now told the Landowners what they want. Result.

PS I am a lifelong Tory Voter but believe in equality, for too long I think successive governments have had snouts in the trough one way or another. I have huge respect for Cameron doing the right thing in Resigning.

My wife asked this, What about Gibraltar, 97% voted to stay, but now they have to leave Europe, could this be an opportunity for Spain to offer an alternative European status if they vote to go to Spain at some future referendum?
At their last referendum, they wanted to stay with UK, so that may change.
Not sure how soon they could have a new referendum!

Also what about the Channel Islands ?

well I was in, though like many areas not 100%

maybe 70/30 in in myself

we'll manage we have before but think it will be england and some of wales
we make great after scotland leave, and northern ireland? perhaps the greater
london will split too as only full region to vote remain.

oh and welcome to a one party tory state, they've got us to to their dirty work
again. cannot see labour or lib dems ever in power again.

suppose scotland if split quicker than britain does could retain eu seat so it be
england+ that needs referenDUM to leave britain?

I hope to god we don't go independent, never mind anything else we need to weather this as the UK.

Scots remain voters are dreaming if they think we'd just be let back in - we'll join the queue like everyone else.

Already we have the French saying OK you are out, take control of your own boarders we are not interested, even though we are supposed to be bound as they are by EU rules for up to two years, yea right so eff to you too, this is a fundamental problem within the EU we abide by the rules most of the others do not, Rick
