Whatever you voted, thank you for taking the effort to actually vote. It is to important a thing to ignore, in my humble opinion...

I agree that's why we have a postal vote as we had a holiday booked the first time we went postal. Now it easier than going to a polling station and having to navigate the party faithful outside the station wanting your poll number as opposed to the polling clerk inside!

I take it, you do know you do not have to give it to them, and if they make a nuisance of themselves, you can ask the Polling station staff to have them removed.

I always say I came straight from work, so don't have my card, just to save confrontation, but many years ago, I did have one person tell me I had to give them my card number, or I could not Vote.. a blatant lie.

The only time we tried a postal vote, they sent them out so late, the post office delayed them, and we were away before the postal papers arrived.

Moving house out of area, but will organise a work day around the polling station.
Too important to miss.

I think it should be illegal not to vote in any of the elections. I tell family and friends they can't complain if they don't vote, even if they go to the polling station and spoil their ballot paper.

As said this is far too important to miss, I won't get into discussions about which way to vote.
I feel there has been far too much scare mongering from both sides rather than giving facts and truth but I guess the truth is that nobody knows exactly what will happen what ever the outcome. There has been some shameful posts and shares on social media trying to scare people with untruths.

All I hope is that we have the best outcome for the country as a whole and not just the few. Good luck everyone and don't not vote:thumbs

I use a similar tactic, I tell to mind their own bloody business.

Granted it's not the most elegant method, but it works.

You are right many years ago when my wife worked in local Government for Repton RDC and later East Staffs District Council she often worked at a polling station as it used to be quite a well paid day off work I think it's between £100-£250 today for a Polling Clerk.

Eventually she became a Presiding Officer I think it was at a small rural location and would see less than 50 people in a day ! As the years have gone on and the staff have left she eventually stopped being asked if she was interested. As you can imagine I had all the rules and regulations explained to me come election time.lol

I will be voting on the 23rd. The same way as everyone else I have spoken to about it.
I haven't spoken to a single person that wants in :D

I don't believe all the crap that spills from the media or politicians mouths.
I usually spoil my ballot paper by writing "NONE" over it. This way it gets noted that it is a protest vote. Any other way doesn't mean jack.

I do this because I'm sick to the back teeth of the idiots we have had in power over the years.

So let me get this right, you want me to vote for you so you can rip me off with my taxes. Spend my tax on anything that "YOU" see fit to.
Errr, I don't recall agreeing that you could buy that new house or fiddle your expenses.
I don't recall agreeing that you could spend my taxes on & on & on & on.
A democracy................. My arse.

2017 will be the 200 anniversary of the last revolution. Lets mark it with another :thumb2 :thumb2 :thumb2 :thumb2

A mate, who works in the civil service, thinks that there should be a political awareness/intelligence test before people are allowed to vote.
I'm happy that the idiots are happy not voting. :)

That's a bit like the old days when voting was for Landowners not the Serfs !

I like the idea of an intelligence test it could be used more widely to allow pregnancy perhaps?

I jest of course it's only right that we should finance some Toffs Duck House build project!!

No matter what happens, this country is too far gone to be saved.

Despite the fact that Two Thirds of the country want out, the 'result' will see us remaining in the EU.... athat is how corrupt this country has become.

...2017 will be the 200 anniversary of the last revolution. Lets mark it with another....
The problem with that plan is, we have been fed so much fluoride over the years we have become so subdued and lethargic, so it's never going to happen.
We have been conditioned to believe fluoride is good for our teeth, the reality is quite the opposite.

I feel you are correct, but I hope you're wrong.
A part of me thinks it's a forgone conclusion (whatever the vote) that we'll stay in. I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

While my mate wants an intelligence test, I firmly believe in democracy no matter how wrong the conclusion is. If 2/3 vote out based on the media outrage and lies, then we only get the result we deserve and have to accept that as the democratic way.
Mot sure I see where the corruption is though...

The true result of the vote will be the majority want to leave the EU.

But, the 'result' we get told will be that the nation has voted to remain.... such is the influence of the Bilderberg Group and the EU on our spineless government.

I go along with that wholeheartedly, Rick
