im guessing you'd need to press the enter site bit for that

looks ok, but i refer to my previous questions

well tell us more then...bike site address ?

are you going to be around when we want something, are you in a possition to help members with problems ?

how do you plan to move the club forward ?

will the club and site be staying as it is ?

will you be organizing events for us ?

who's doing club merchandise hats ,t shirts, stickers etc how do we buy them now ?

sorry to be so nosy but its been very hush hush and drawn out, I've had so much time to think of questions !

oh and thanks for buying the club ...

as glad as i am someone bought the club, and its now yours to do with as you please, i cant beleive you did it so you could empty your bank account a bit, if that was the case you only had to pm me i would have been only too happy to help you with that

so you must by now have an idea what you plan to improve the site and make it work for you

It loaded quick enough on my internet link which is quite slow really so speed aint too bad. My screen res is 1024x768 so the Enter Site button was hidden at the bottom of the page. I would probably stick the Forum's page in Faves or create a desktop shortcut to it. I simply prefer to go straight to the info I want but that's just how I am.

I do like it, its a good idea, BUT in my honest opinion, most site i have ever been to with a loading page have a skip button which i nearly always use.

if i do it i can only guess that alot others do it too, so the loading page does not get a look in most of the time and becomes a waste.

but again i do like it for it novelty value.

[b]well tell us more then...bike site address ?
What has that got to do with this site?

are you going to be around when we want something, are you in a possition to help members with problems ?
What do you mean by want something? and what do you mean by help members with problems, are you talking IT related? vehicle related? or mental problems... you need to be more specific.

how do you plan to move the club forward ?
At the moment, by selecting 1st gear and slowly letting the clutch up.... it's going to be a joint effort by us all to make this work.

will the club and site be staying as it is ?
NO, I will be moving it away from this very clunky software that it currently runs on.

will you be organizing events for us ?
No, I only have one pair of hands..... there's over a 1,000 members here so I'm sure there is someone quite capable in each area to organise regional meets etc.

who's doing club merchandise hats ,t shirts, stickers etc how do we buy them now ?
Lucy and I will, there will be an e-commerce merchandise section created in the coming weeks.

..... but its been very hush hush and drawn out, I've had so much time to think of questions !
Right up until yesterday afternoon the takeover was not 100% as Mav could have backed out any time. So what was the point of me saying "hello all, I might be taking over the club", if it ended up not happening.

This is going to be a long process that isn't going to just happen over night.... so extreme what is it that you can bring to the club?

-cheers-

I think the way you changed over to being the boss worked just fine, apart from the PM. but thats life, after well ahh have the odd PC misshap! even me!.

As a member. i feel if a club for memberto help run.. not online stuff, but events rallys ect. Im doing one for April some time..

Im sure others can do one local to them im sure.

its NOT hard. fine some were to camp and a pub with good food. green lanes are harder for me, but am working on a little roll, over salisbury plane. hope to get a group leader as ive no idea where to go..

Surely the club is only as strong and successful as the members make it.
You have the captain at the helm , and the crew doing their bit to keep the ship afloat . A ship is only as efficient as the captain AND crew make it, so let's support Bat 21 as much as we can, just as we supported Mick.

P.S. to last message ...... The new front shows visitors what can be done with the Nissan/Ford trucks , and should generate more interest in the club from non-members, as marketing is just as important in gaining members as it is in sales. Thumbs up from me !!!

It's here Sniffer (http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/), but I only updated the DNS records last night so it might take up to 72 hours before it filters through to your ISP... be patient and all will be reviled

Spot on Supertaff, generating interest and attracting new members is all about presentation and first impressions... it's only a start but I think it's a step in the right direction.

Well I think it looks very good Bat21, a very good compilation of great photos.

The only thing that I can think of, that is any way detrimental is that it is all off road related and may and I say may not appeal to every 4X4 owner, will they go any further?

Good thoughts, A range of vehicles specs and situations would cover all nissan maveric 4x4 needs. I mean you could even slip one in of one with 22" rims 8O shudder

I totally agree with that one and can see where you're coming from, I'll try and find some more tame photos

As long as they are inspiring photos, ones that will make new visitors to the site want to join in, that would be fine.

Hi Bat21
I like the new front but also agree with some off the others that it might be nice to have some of the rallies and mini meet photos.

Just to show what a what a nice bunch we are.

I have a photo of my terrano with a turkey on the roof   but dont worry I wont post it

Good luck with the new ownership -mex- -cheers-

I'm new to the marque and to this club so I've no axe to grind. I think that the new front end would have made me join the club sooner, rather than hanging about as a guest with limited access. I like the slide show of trucks, and think it definately shows people what they're missing out on.

I'm also a member of The Discovery Owners Club. They have differant area Sections with monthly "Pub Meets". I'm the Local Section Representitive for Devon and Cornwall. This way, people have a local contact, local meets and can organise local events, aswell as the "Nationals". Just a thought.

Keep up the good work, Lee.

well hi boss,
i inquired about the bike site cos i like enduro bikes nothing sinister i was just curious, but i guess it would have been an insight into how you set your sites up

my question about help, was i guess a little non descriptive but yes i meant it help loading pics or cant do something on the site or suggestions like mav did

as was, if you had any changes in mind or was you open to suggestions

i assumed the leader would be organizing the national rally but then again too nosey

as for the shop, i had asked mav for some club stickers to advertise the club on my truck but i guess he hadnt had time. thats why i was asking who to buy from, but its your club if you in a hurry neither am i

i was always asking mav of ways i could help the club but if your just happy with 10.00 a year , so be it

oh and for the chap who finds me extremely annoying sadly thats your opinion and possibly others but you will just have to live with it
unless you want to organize the national rally then you can tell me all about it when i come.
id rather not lower myself to that playground stuff here thank you

yours extremely annoying

well I think it looks good, and a fair mix of motors even one of me! which is also one o fthe most popular photos in the gallery so has earned a place there!

Maybe one or two more road goinf vehicles wouldnt hurt and maybe one of Bat's gorgeous Mrs

But on the whole pretty good. The only thing I would say is, I am a bit unsure of a big software change as that would change the whole feel of the site and may put a few pwople off, but its got to be worth a try.

Som where i have a few hundred snaps of the club rally's and off roading events and even a few video clips, if i can find them do you want me to post them on a cd or something simmilar so you can take you pick for the gallery?

Hi Bat 21

I'm not an off-road man (it costs me enough to keep my beast OK for on road stuff!) but I love the front end. I also enjoy the club chat and wonderful helpful attitude of the members. So, more strength to your arm in keeping it going, you have my enthusiastic support.

On the new software issue, can I ask that any changes be Macintosh compatible please?

Kind regards CL

No Jim I would have thought so, like I said it may take up to 72 hours to propagate through to the ISPs before some may get to see it. It loads up with about 2 - 3 seconds here.

Anyone who cant see the new front end may need to clear their DNS Cache, this should happen when you reboot or you can go to a DOS prompt and type

ipconfig /flushdns

Good Luck
