Hmmm imagine that inconvenience, how long is the site normally working and how often is it down. Think we'll forgive him for a slight outage:clap

Thought maybe Banshee had enough of me teasing him over his hairdresser car!

All good now though.
Hmmm, maybe I was right and he's just forgiven me!

:freak3: You will go blind if you keep fiddling with it.
We are in North Wales at the moment, I thought Wales had been cut off by the snow lol.
We are at the base of Snowdon, yesterday we took the mountain railway up Snowdon, and at the back of my mind I was wondering if my Mav could get up there!!
Clearly not up the railway track, but the route of that Frontera a year or so back, I wonder if that guy is now out of prison! :augie He did it twice though...
Anyway, that moment soon passed as I realised we were in the Yeti :doh
It was out while I was out :lol

Managed to get back on here today :clap
Couldn't figure or how though and ended up searching the Facebook page and read that none of the shortcuts or bookmarks work anymore. Deleted them, researched and all good.

So for those of us who do not have Farcebook, how are we supposed to get back on. I get a 50/50 chancevwith TapaTalk, but on the laptop I get a Fatal Error message.

Just go to "www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com"
and log in. Don't try and use old links/bookmarks.
You have to use "new posts" to view up to date threads.
Apparently the new servers has some different coding.

I've a feeling you've a cached version of the website stuck in your web history, clear the internet history on your computer, what browser are you using and I'll do some instructions, if it works for you, I'll do guides for all the mainstream browsers and sticky them until everyone is OK again :thumb2
am I the only person who is going to ask why the change ? :nenau

You just asked the question we are all to afraid to ask, but we have to assume that those more IT savvy than us mere mortals, have a good answer........:nenau
Even I don't know fully lol
Paul just mentioned that the server was being move from the US to Germany I think and that in the process of migrating he was going to update the underlying software that runs the forum as well :nenau

Sadly the old code that was used to create the old forum home page is no longer developed or supported :(

Are there any plans to rebuild or replace it , it was so useful and I think we all miss it. It's like buying your newspaper every day with the front page missing

It was a piece of code developed by vBAdvaned.
This is their website www.vbadvanced.com I'll let you decide as to weather you think there are any plans for its continued development ;)

Is there no other work round for this, cannot believe that we have to put up with the current situation, it is a step backwards not forwards like it should be, Rick
What was on the old front page that you are missing Rick?
The old front page was a 'bolt on' product that relied on its developers continued development. The bods who wrote the code no longer do so, so it is impossible to get an updated version of it.
The reason it stopped working is because the PHP version we are now running does not support the outdated code that it was written in. We had to move forward with PHP versions because the version we were on was end of life.
Tbh I never used it because I always click on new posts

I am totally with you Rick, It's kind of lost it's identity, now it looks just like any old boring message board. we all know its not but new visitors will i'm sure be underwhelmed, and now ther are all the Facebook stuf too. I just dont think it's good enough. .There was so much useful stuff on it too. IMO,It's time for someone to putt there hand in their pocket and use our subscriptions to pay for a new front page developing.:naughty
