whilst looking for ether came across this site.
darrantchemicals.co.uk
good selection of stuff even caster oil.
whats the thoughts on a dribble of ether mixed into wvo to aid cold starts in cold weather.

Panealbeater have you tried 2EHn with your WVO? I used to do that in the Maverick and it was sweet

yes got some but that is like a cetain booster not a compression booster.

What you looking to boost compression for?

well i hate to admit it but i made an very old error last week.
my tank was very low after last tripso i thought as i am going on another trip this thursday i will pop into garage and put 5ltr of rug and 10ltr of derv straight into tank then at home i put in 60ltr of straight cleaned wvo like i would do except this time wvo was filtered when air was a bit warmer, also from a new supplier of it.
i put wvo in took it for short drive then parked up. for 4 days.
last weekend temp dropped and had frosts, not usually a problem when i pre mix my mix and add to tank.
so needed to go and have a dressing changed it was early and cold and turned over and over but did not fire so decided to give it a shot of easy start, never used on t2 befor,so where to put it in.
i decided to undo pipe after maf and gave a short squirt and turned it over and started straight away made short rattle and ticked over.
left it running and reconnected pipe and off i go.
that tells me no fuel when i tried first and it is a new battery.
return journey started fine.
so am thinking a bit of ether in tank will give it the extra kick when very cold.

That's why you need to get the heat exchanger and heated filter stuff installed panelbeater!!! I only use SVO these days too, the price people want for WVO these days is silly and the mess I'm not making in the garden is beautiful

For straight compression improvement I have found cheap 2T oil is very good. Of course it's effect falls away once you stop using it.

I had an old petrol 260 E Merc that was a pig to start in the winter when it was cold - it had 183,000 miles on the clock and did not burn oil but the first start of the day always took some cranking. When I added 2 T oil 600 ml to a tank of fuel it started instantly!

I used it in my Terrano to keep it quiet and improve fuel consumption. I use it in the Jeep for long runs only as I am not sure of its everday effect on the Cat.

used t2 oil befor,do not have a problem starting but this oil is new to me and was runny when filtered.just got court out and cold again next weekend but can put a bit more rug/derv in after my run to spalding.

I'm not keen on ether I don't think it does the valves any good.
