Hello all,

I’d like to just say a few words to introduce myself as the new owner of the Nissan & Ford Maverick Owners Club, I’ve been a member here for almost Two years now. I found the club while researching for info about my 1993 Patrol which was purchased to carry us on our overland trips.

When I first saw the club was up for sale I didn’t think I was the right man for the job being a relative newbie here, but it soon became apparent that Mav was struggling to attract a buyer, so I took the decision to raid a rather large piggy bank and step up to the helm.

My plans for the club are quite simple, firstly to make sure we retain the current membership and take the club forward, and secondly to build on the success that the club has enjoyed over the past 4 years and attract new members to join us.

I hope I can rely on your support.

Thank you Bat21 for saving this great club from extinction, if you are prepared to raid your piggy bank to fund it, then it means you have only good intentions to keep it going and I am sure with you wealth of experience with websites etc, things can only go from strength to strength.

You're more than welcome, I don't charge a penny but would be more than happy to lead a trip to Morocco. You all have the trucks, so just find the £1,500 for the ferry's, accomodation and fuel and you're there, I normally do 18 days away each trip.

My two main passions are adventure motorcycling and my Patrol, my bike site is just over 6 years old and has just under 9,000 members, it is the biggest site of its kind in the world.

I like to think I have what it takes to take this place forward and go from strength to strength, hence the reason I came forward... I guess time will tell.

Thanks for all the welcomes and offers of help..... lets see what we can do in 2009 and beyond.

well tell us more then...bike site address ?

are you going to be around when we want something, are you in a possition to help members with problems ?

how do you plan to move the club forward ?

will the club and site be staying as it is ?

will you be organizing events for us ?

who's doing club merchandise hats ,t shirts, stickers etc how do we buy them now ?

sorry to be so nosy but its been very hush hush and drawn out, I've had so much time to think of questions !

I think we have all learned a lot about both web based clubs/communities and Nissan 4x4's from each other and this site, and I beleive you are the best man for the job. Keep building on the hard work of Shark1e, Mav, and the mods and you cant go far wrong!
