I am gutted to be letting her go was ideal for the family but just to expensive on diesel

Nice looking motor I like the colour best of luck with the sale.
As you have found out running a 4 x 4 is not a cheap form of transport but they are neat to drive if the fuel costs are within your budget.

Have to say in fairness, although there is no doubt they're thirsty an average petrol car doesn't do that well on local trips really. It's only the long trips that the terrano really loses out and I guess it depends how many long trips you do. Certainly practicality the terrano winds most vehicles with no problems.

Circa 1985 we ran an Opel Kadette 1200 Hatchback RWD model an old S Reg the German version of a Vauxhall Chevette.

Over a year it averaged around 32-34 mpg but in the winter when we used it for the short journey to work only a distance of 5 miles each way she would only return 18-20 mpg !!

Our Jeep will do a good 30-34 mpg on a decent run but she only manages an average over the last year of 26.3 mpg in 10,000 miles of motoring.

good luck in selling it mate i am taking mine to holland from on sunday night sailing from harwich monday morning so have just filled tank up :eek:
